I have Installed and been using Windows 10 Pro insider Build 10162 with Four EVGA GTX 980 Ti SC's (353.30 Nvidia Drivers) in 4-Way SLI for weeks without any problems on my ASUS X99 Rampage 5 Extreme/5960X, But I haven't tried to use any of my 980 Ti's on my second Rig using an EVGA X58 Classified/980/Windows 7 Ultimate setup to check if it will work on that or if it will give me an error message concerning Windows 10 like the one you received.

Lately I have installed/used Windows 10 Pro insider Build 10162 with my X58 Rig using two EVGA GTX 680 Classifieds in 2-Way SLI, So I can't see why it would not work with your X58 Rig as long as you use the 980 Ti 353.06/353.30 drivers.

Hahaha, I've noticed various games recommending graphical settings well below that of the 980 Ti I'm running, or a 980/970 for that matter.

I'd imagine it'll be fixed by the time I pull the trigger on Windows 10.

Question.  Is Windows 10 suppose to be better for gaming or just better period?  If so, what makes it better than Windows 7?  I ask because Microsoft has given me a free upgrade to Windows 10 and anytime someone offers something for free, who typically charges for anything, makes my eyebrows rise (picture the Rock).

    Thanks

Directx12 is exclusive to Windows 10. So yeah it's better for games for sure!

From what I understand, DX12 is supposed to maximize CPU usage by the GPU, which would increase the effectiveness of our display adapters. It is also supposed to reduce power consumption in the process, which would theoretically allow for higher overclocking values, pushing performance even further.

Of course, it'll all depend on developer support.
