Properly sized heads, with the proper intake and the cam ground to the right specks and a properly sized exhaust.
Right injectors and a good tune
Save up some coin, find a good motor shop in you area and have a good talk with your builder.
1st gear with 4:10 and 400WHP will be useless!

I know of one builder who will no longer build any motor with a stock block. Too many problems.
Besides splitting from too much power, blocks are cracking in the bolt hole over the oil filter.
Even if the heads are torqued properly. It seems to be a weak spot.

Slap a blower on a 351 and hold on!!!!!

I can't find any 351w's in my area :/.

Also, 4.10's in an AOD in first is a little taller (more speed) than a T5 with 3.73's.

Also with some research, the 351 just looks like too much work. I'm not swapping the hood to accommodate for the extra height, and I don't like the fact I have to buy yet another intake manifold and headers.

400hp with 4.10's in an aod car will be fine. You can run 400hp n/a on a properly prepped stock block for years without worry of splitting the block. It is in the 550hp+ range that you need to start worrying.
