Means I have an extra 150 bucks in my pocket...  I also think the demand for this even at $800 is going to be very high.  $650 will make that demand even higher.  I hope there's an ample supply!

I mention it b/c I was looking around over on OC, and they were posting messages from the ROG facebook that listed that price point.

I dunno how valid it is, but I hope it could actually be true.  I would no doubt order immediately for that price.

Yeah, I saw that to.  I'm not going to get my hopes up for a $650 price tag, but if turns out to be, great...

Not surprised. Especially when since there has been 5 months of release delays.

I still might get this, but a big piece of me wants to see what other brands bring to the table in particular Samsung and BenQ... Worst case scenario it makes the Swift cheaper :)

CoolMaster Cosmos SE Full Tower - Intel Core i5 4670K OC'd @4.0 gHz - MSI Z87 MPOWER - Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600Hz
Gigabyte GTX 680 2GB OC'd in SLI - Samsung 120GB/500GB SSD + Seagate 1TB 7200rpm + WD 3TB External
Antec Kuhler H2O 650 - Antec 850W Modular HCG-850M
Asus Swift PG278Q + Dell P2714H 27" IPS

60hz 4k doesn't do it for me. I really want to move away from 1080P so I think the Swift will be ideal Speed and resolution wise.

I feel exactly the same way.  My current monitors, before getting them I had 1900x1200 monitors.  I didn't think the drop to 1080p would be a big difference, but I notice it soooo much.  I've basically been wanting to switch monitors since I got the ones I have now.

Not suprised.  A month or two back there was in interview/review where they said it would be $719, then later said that was an error as well.  Confirming again that it's $799.

Called the distributor today, due into Australia on 3th September 2014 - cost is not confirmed yet they told me $1099 retail and $1120 cost lol so that's to be confirmed, i'll jump on one regardless i think ive decided since i posted last night... i feel it would be $800-ish and i'd be ecstatic.

I'd say we have now surpassed what it was like (and the time) waiting for the release of the Dark mobo...

Ohhh yah we have. when did we see the Dark for the first time CES Jan. 2013? I purchased mine
Part Number: 150-SE-E789-KR
Part Desc: EVGA X79 Dark

Place Purchased: EVGA
Purchase Date: 8/9/2013
Date Registered: 08/13/2013 12:27:55 PM

So yah we've surpassed that. What's worse is that Jacob kept us as well informed as he could. These reps a ASUSnorth America and ASUS in general have been leading me on since April. Last June was the "we promise July"  August now...

Yep.  That's for sure.  And I still have doubts that we'll be able to purchase it this month even.  Maybe preorder this month for a September delivery at best.

Yah I bought their message back in June, now I won't believe it until we see it for sale. I wish I could order a custom 34"-36" Swift.... I'd pay it. bigger the better especially when it comes to flight simming.

I've been on there too trying to keep track of he swift. Most of what I read sounds like user error to me. Most the issues I read sounded like they're configs are setup wrong.

Don't get excited just another good review.

http://www.reviewstudio.net/1917-asus-rog-swift-pg278q-g-sync-monitor-review-the-first-rog/results

I'm not buying these users stated problem stories on the ROG forum. User error for sure. The Swift should work better then my modified ASUS VG248QE with Gsync.

the Gsync module and panel were built around each other where as with the ASUS VG248QE the module was built around the panel alone.

That's how I took most of the issue's as well.  Except for the one (I forget now) where finally the guy from ASUS finally concluded the issue was driver related with Gsync.
I figure that in any case, as drivers get better at supporting Gsync, most if not all these issue's will disappear.

EXACTLY!

Beta 340.43 does not work at all with gysnc. I had roll back to WQHL and everything was fine. this latest driver is all good too with Gsync.
