Has anyone seen the 980 Ti Hydro Copper anywhere?  I see all the other card models at various stores, but not the Hydro Copper.  Is it expected to be out any time soon?

Looking around, I can get a reference card with an EK water block for about the same cost either way, but I'd much rather get the Hydro Copper and keep the full warranty.

Second, does anyone know what color the built-in LED is?  I've yet to see pictures or see it listed anywhere.

You keep the full warranty if you put an ek block on, and can use the ek terminals as well. Your warranty doesn't go away because of installing the Block.

The hydropower have white light inside, but I am not sure about the bridge portion. If you get the hydrocopper, the terminals and bridges made by ek will not work with the Block if you ever decide to sli. You will have to use fittings instead, which is no big deal at all.

I hadn't heard that about the warranty before.  Is that actually documented anywhere?   I have no problems putting my own blocks on, but considering the Hydro Copper is now only about $10-25 more than buying the parts yourself, it seemed like a great deal.

I've got a pair of 680's right now that I'm upgrading and I was going for a pair of 980 Ti's, so I would be interested in SLI.  I'd already e-mailed EKWB about an SLI bridge, since I know they made one for an older Hydro Copper (the 580 I think?).  Custom bridges and fittings can both look good, depending on what you get.

EVGA requires the original cooler be returned, 1 stock bios (if you have multiple bios, you can flash the others to your hearts content), and no physical damage to the card. It is that easy :-). EVGA posts this all over the forum, and I am pretty sure it is in the warranty section as well.

Everything I own is either water-cooled or (tonight) dry ice/ln2 cooled. I share pictures with EVGA every time I make a major change, and they have read multiple items for me knowing well what we (the community) put them through. All you have to do is put the air cooler back on when you are complete, so make sure to save every screw and part for that and you will be fantastic.

The hydrocopper usually take longer to release, because they factory overclock them before they send them out, so they have to prep the bios and verify it before shipping.

Thanks for the info.  Good to know I won't sacrifice my warranty!

I'll give them a few days of the "F5" routine on their page.  If they don't pop up, then I may look for another model.  I figured these would be quicker than usual since they're the same as the SC version for overclocking, and they use the same waterblock as the Titan X.

Yes, the cards using the same layout is extremely convenient and helpful. It makes the options readily available.

Unless you really like the looks of the HC I'd recommend a reference card with separate block. The HC isn't gonna be anything special so no point waiting.

Well, the HC is a nice looking card.  And you get the backplate and the "SC" version base overclock as well, which is nice.  Considering the SC + baseplate version costs $680, and the HC is $800, it's actually CHEAPER by a few bucks to get the HC now than the SC version + almost any waterblock.  (as it should have always been with the HC cards IMO)

I'm keeping my eyes on Nowinstock.net and eVGA's page to see which one becomes available first.

It really irks me when people
Say this. A factory card is not at the stock speeds of the HC. Plus the HC looks nice and there is no messing about. And by my estimations the cost if you buy the HC from here is less than making your own.

I ended up going with the HC already, I got lucky and got to the webpage before they sold out.  They're working working great so far!

Did you order from the EU store? How did you find out they had stock, was it from the email they send out? If so then STILL how did you get stock? Majorly lucky!

I got them from the US store (since that's where I live).  They sent an e-mail staying they were in stock, and I happened to be sitting in front of the computer when I did.  They sold out within 2 minutes.

The Factory card and the hydrocopper have precisely the same PCB layout.  The only difference is the cooler and the factory clocks from EVGA.  Get it? They are the same (talking about the PCB.. get it?), and a bios can make them exactly the same, just the part number would be different. Irking your nerves means little when it is the truth.

Yes it is cheaper to buy it outright, and much less work when doing an RMA since users don't have to remove the block or do anything special other than send the card back as it was purchased. Since some users flash their own bios's even on the hydrocopper, it shows they are not limited by waiting and can test their cards before the hydrocopper is ever released and may get a card that is much better than any hydrocoppers released (not normally, but it is possible).

Congrats on you guys who have been able to actually buy the hydro copper.

I am building a new machine, and will be going the liquid cooled route for the first time, but like the 8th or 9th computer build since that first IBM 486 SLC-75 back in 92.  I have read on the board here about the display port issues and slightly worried, I use my machine for work and some gaming, currently running an Alienware m18x with two m580's in it out to two (2) Asus VS278Q monitors one using the HDMI out on the laptop to the HDMI in on one of the monitors and the other from the mini display port to a converter into HDMI and then using a HDMI cable into the monitor.  I will be adding sometime within 6 months of the build one 4k 28" monitor.

So my question to those of you lucky enough to have already received your Hydro Coppers and are running more than one (1) display, are you having any issues with the display port not being recognized?

I am a bit hesitant to spend 20% of the total build's budge on something that may not work, the applications I run for work would be just find on an old vga card, but I *want* to be able to game when I am not working.

    Thanks,

You obviously care, or you wouldn't have taken the time to read and respond.

My point still stands, the PCB is still exactly the same.  Users can get other blocks, that aren't hydrocoppers, and make them much cheaper with the same performance, and it is encouraged to take blocks apart, as I have even found thermal tape on my stock cards still covered in plastic that was supposed to be removed before being used. So, you can get as mad and TYPE AS BIG as you want.  My point still stands. You don't have to argue anything :-)

Will there be more made available soon? I finally got one ordered from Newegg Friday (July 31st), but they had a 1 per customer limit and I want/need a second for SLI. I have been trying ever since they were released.

Agreed, EVGA have a pretty good warranty that allows the use of other coolers without voiding it. I will always remove stock HSF to replace the default TIM with something better, usually MX4 or my current favorite Gelid GC Extreme. Invariably I find that factory applied TIM is too thick or has been applied off center.
