Hey guys, been having this issue for awhile. I remedy it by reinstalling drivers and sometimes MSI together but it always pops back up in a few days. I idle normal when skype is closed at 135mhz but soon as skype opens and loads, it boosts up to 1291, not my max clock but still higher than i like. Other random programs also cause this I noticed which is weird but skype is def the one that I would like fixed as im always on it for one and dont like my clocks being that high/temps all day long when not even gaming. 
 
Anyone else have this issue and know of a fix. Strangely enough google didnt even have answers. Found 1 person with same issue but his was because he had prefer maximum performance on which i do not, tried few random things besides the reinstall of drivers but nothing seems to stick. 

I am running Skype Version 7 and I do not see the same issue.
I am not using K-Boost.

Is that what u were talking about sajin? Not sure where link to that forum is but I would like to use that trick again if possible with 980,, just not sure what I need to change.
