Nvidia has a new firmware for the 690 gtx. It resolves many compatibility issues as well as some performance enhancements.
It has been released / or being released to the major resellers.
 
I have been unable to find it for download. Does anyone here know the link ?

3 Asus tech calls where they had the firmware in house. 
The  tech call started with trying to find out why NO ONE can get the new Asus Z9PE-D8 WS to boot with an nvidia 690 gtx with motherboard bios 703.
 
Turns out the issue has to do with the pcie check in process. This also answers my problem with my sr-x and compatibility issues with my dual 690gtx. In my case i get an event error at boot ID 56
 
I am most interested in getting this resolved, but don't want to wait weeks / months more to get this resolved.
 
So anyone have a way to get the new firmware?

This came from asus, who also makes 690gtx

They are having issues with the 690gtx in combo with their dual CPU boards

Got it from level 1 tech support as soon as gtx 690 was in conversation
Said tere is a bulletin on te help desk software

Got it from level 2 support when as a different caller I made the issue go up higher
Both referenced the same bulletin


Trust me, I want this update too!

The 690gtx is giving me an event ID 56 in event log 6 errors, 3 per card and the are all related to the pcie getting erroneous info on my sr-x

I would also like to know when EVGA plans on releasing the new 690 Bios. A link perhaps?? Nvidia has already released it to all 690 manufacturers and I believe since 690 is a reference board, no modification really is required from EVGA from what little I know. When can we expect to see it released?

I just got an updated NEW bios version from Jacob at eVGA for 690 GTX. :)  If you would like I can forward his email with attachments. Just PM me if Jacob hasn't helped you already. The new 690 GTX Bios version files were named: F04702000.rom and F04709000.rom. I have yet to update the Bios as I am at work.

My original Bios was:
80.04.1E.00.90
80.04.1E.00.91

P.S. I will not know the new Bios version until after I update the Bios. I am sure Jacob should be posting the new bios on here very soon.

For some reason when i installed my new board x79 FTW my 690 would not work from a fresh install of windows 7 so i put in my 8800 gts and all was good then i put back in my 690 and it was ok have your tryed anoter card first?

I would be most interested in obtaining that firmware myself, especially if it resolved the compatibility issues with recent BIOSes on the Asus Z9PE-D8 WS.

I have  2 690's in quad and  the performance on surround video is not great with GPU utilization in games like Crysis, Crysis 2. Does this firmware improve performance?

We should have it posted the same way GTX 670 firmware update is posted in a sticky topic... No reason not to. PMing every single person is ineffective. And it's not like GTX 670 deserves this level of support and GTX 690 doesn't.
 
And just to clarify, still need an updated BIOS for GTX 690 Classified myself.
