Maybe it's just me but there is no way I invest in a 4k monitor that only refreshes @60hz vs. a 2k that has the capability to refresh @144hz.(for gaming).I would personally snag a 1080 monitor @120hz/144hz and save that hard earned coin before the 4k.When BF4 loaded and match begin.....it was a brand new gaming experience for me and the $ I spent on the Rog Swift was justified in just a few seconds of gaming. My sweet spot for FPS is refreshing @120hz and there is now way I could ever go back to 60 fps.

Temper your expectations though about panel quality v. $.  It's an Acer panel so the quality isn't amazing.  Glossy plastic sucks on a monitor.  Also there's liable to be a few flaws in the anti glare coating and it seems some people are getting dead pixel screens (I didn't get one with this problem).  The backlight also bleeds a lot on everyone's screen in the bottom right corner.  You're buying the 144Hz and GSync, so don't expect the same quality as an $800 60 Hz IPS.

Looks fine to me....(shrug)

Personally, 60 hz is way to slow, even if it is an IPS. IPS honestly too overrated right now. When IPS comes out with 144hz, then I'll consider.

The Acer XB270HU is 144Hz, G-sync, 1440p and IPS.  It's sort of the ROG Swift with IPS...

You're probably right on that. my playing style right now, though, i'm content with 1080p, and would prefer to max out the refresh rate than to stick to a lower refresh rate. I did notice that the fps was bouncing all over the place, so now I'm going to purchase another 970 to get a higher refresh rate. (No, i do not need a lesson on scaling with SLI.) I Definately will think hard on that 3440x1440 monitor you mentioned once the 980ti's come out.
