So I picked up this card for cheap..The only issue is the white light on top of the evga/geforce gtx 1080 logo is literally annoying. Is there anyway to turn off this light? I really don't want to return this card because of the annoyance it gives me. If i do return it i guess i'll settle for a ftw version. 1. Download the Precision X OC software (not Precision X). 2. Go into settings. 3. Turn off the LED.

I am not talking about the EVGA logo. The classified version has another white light above the evga/gtx logo. I can't find an option to disable that.

The only way to disable the LED's on the card is how ksgnow2010 described or by using the LED Visualizer in the GeForce Experience. If you could, post a picture of the LED in question so we can verify if this diode is always on or controllable.

It is a little hard to see because of the lighting but I can confirm that this is normal. That is the diagnostic LED and it is not controllable. This will always be on when the card is functioning properly.

Put a piece of electrical tape over it if it bothers you so much? The FTW version is going to have the same light.

+1 EVGATech_JosephL You can cut a piece of electrical tape as mentioned above. Here is some additional information regarding the diagnostic LED's on the Classified: http://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=59496
+1 nice info on the LEDs Also - heat-shrink or black magic marker - I've even used window tint in another application with bright LEDs

My card did not have those leds showing up until the card crashed my system. They were definitely NOT on. As soon as the card died (and my classified was a doozy) the leds showed up. So that is not normal behavior. My brand new FTW card doesn't have those light on either. Something caused them to show up because that is not how the card is supposed to look. You should call evga. I called evga and told them about that and they were not sure either.

Here you go. They should have been on all the time - there is no way to disable without duck tape FAQ 59496 Classified LEDshttp://www.evga.com/suppo...ewfaq.aspx?faqid=59496 What are the 5 LEDs on my Classified or KINGPIN edition graphics card for? Answer / SolutionThese 5 LEDs are voltage indicator lights that can help you diagnose voltage problems with your video card. With the fan facing towards you and the power connectors facing up, the LEDs are, from left to right: GPU - This indicates if voltage to the video card's GPU is good MEM - This indicates if voltage to the video card's memory is good PLL - This indicates if the voltage for auxillary components such as fans, LEDs, etc. is good 3.3V - This indicates if the voltage supplied from the motherboard via PCIe slot is good 12V - This indicates if the voltage from the 12v input from the power supply is good If any of these LEDs are not lighting up, it indicates a voltage issue with that component or source. Checking your power supply, motherboard, or increasing voltage to the video card may help with any of these problems.

IMO this is a really handy feature. Especially if you are doing heavy overclocking.

It's only for the classified and kingpin versions. FTW does not come with it.

Whatever you do do not get the FTW version. Trust me that white light is a lot less annoying than a black screen.

Dang landerx74, give it a rest already. I'm sorry your card didn't work right, but most FTW cards are perfectly fine.

From all the posts I see that most are not fine. And the reason I'm not giving it a rest is because EVGA has not told us what they're doing to address this problem except for just asking us to call in. I do have to say when I did call in the only solution the tech gave me was to put the card in debug mode to get it to work! So see it from my point of view I paid premium for a premium card and I have to run it at stock settings for it to work right. That is ridiculous because I could have just bought a vanilla card and called it a day. But I hear what you're saying and I will tone it down. I'll try I'll try I promise. My replacement card is coming in just a couple of days and then you'll only hear keeping fingers crossed good things :-)
