If you watch this and this.  You understand why the price is more.  It has alot of quality materials built into it.  Especially the VRM architecture

Niche market. And saying that oh guy i prefer to buy a 500 dollar mobo and keep it 5 years because motherboard is the bone of the rig blabla is just nonsense. between buying a z370 second hand mobo for my 9900k for 100 dollar and this overpriced card will make no difference whatsoever in longetivity. msi z 370 sli plus so very good one. just doesn't have all the bells and whistles. i speak for common oc not normal gaming use and most important point in 5 years Intel will have change sockets 3 times


oh and the sound aspect.. prefer my x ae5 from sound blaster no mobo chipset can beat it and i can keep it when i change motherboards

The X299 Dark can be had for $250 and it's the best engineered motherboard on the market. It also debuted at $500.
