Hi I already have one M.2 NVMe drive which I boot windows with,

will the z370 FTW board support a second one for storage? will it kill my sata ports?

Thank you

You can find the corresponding manual for your motherboard here - https://www.evga.com/support/manuals/
It will have all of those details in it

You can install two M.2 nvme or sata on ftw (like I did), but you will lose four of six sata ports. For this reason I swapped my ftw with classified K.

You have an M.2 SATA Drive on your FTW or Classified K Motherboard?

I have two 970 evo drives, so two nvme. The problem is that, if you only enable in the bios one or two M.2 pci-ex, you'll lose automatically two or four sata ports, also if you don't install any drives.

That is what I thought, though you stated above that you could also use M.2 SATA Drives.

I don't remember if both m.2 ports are compatible with m.2 sata, but my replies wanted to highlight something different:
It is not important what you use on those m.2 slots, the very important thing is to have awareness that you lose four sata slots.
PS: for m.2 sata compatibility you have to check the manual. I don't remeber, but surely you can install at least one m.2 sata drive.

No, I have one M.2 SATA Drive and sadly I cannot use it in any of the EVGA Z370/Z390/X299 Motherboards.
They Only Support NVMe M.2 Drives.

Strange... on the manual of my Classified K, page 35, there is a little list of tested drives. On that I can see also sata m.2 drives.
