I dont think I've ever seen an ad. Maybe its cause I've paid for Google music when it was 7.99 and they threw in YouTube. Really haven't thought much about it.
Anyways, yeah thst is a sketchy ad

Sketchy ads are everywhere. It’s how money is made. Sucks when you have kids though makes it really difficult.

It has been years since I have seen an ad on youtube. VPNs are the way to surf the web mostly hassle-free. No ads breaking up videos, no ads to be seen. I can't even use my cell phone anymore, after 5 ads in 1 video. I am sure there may be something to do there, but the only time I do that is when I am tinkering on the PC so almost never. Ads of all kinds are an unnecessary annoyance.

There are many options. Many YouTubers upload to multiple platforms at the same time. That way they get better coverage and they have proof of video content in the event that YouTube's logic goes haywire and flags their video or channel. LBRY is an alternate platform which has been growing quite fast.

RANT: FB, Twitter, and YT are all on limited time ( or should be imo). As they push for more and more censorship people and the Right in the USA get more and more annoyed. I hope the spineless congress and senate can pull article 230 from these companies who are in clear violations of anti trust, editing, publishing, left wing bias censorship, and election meddling. Private company argument left the room a decade ago, Government's job is to protect our rights and 2A is to protect us from our Gov. blah blah blah nothing will happen, get use to this and go download Cuties from Netflix and tell all your friends it was great movie or be labeled a religious zealot. TECH HELP: If you use EERO as a router/wifi it has an adblock feature if you sub to their security policy. I have a business google account and it allows me to use YT without ads.

uBlock Origin for me but also have my long used Ghostery too. Been using browser ad-blocking for well over a decade and it started when I wanted a snapper browser not bogged down by unneeded nonsense back when internet speeds much lower. Now it's just a reflex to have some form of filtering. As for YouTube Ads the only ones I ever see are put in by the content creators. Edit: MSim
