Interesting. Guess I just associated it with the update because the issue didnt show up until literally after the restart for the .NET update. Good work!

redleader00 OK, I found the problem. It is the auto-update feature. Workaround: 1.- Go to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd\PrecisionX_x64.exe_Url_PLUS_A_LOT_MORE_CHARACTERS\1.0.7.0 Replace YOUR_USERNAME and PLUS_A_LOT_MORE_CHARACTERS with the values on your system. 2.- Open user.config with Notepad. 3.- Find the line that says <setting name="General_UpdateType" serializeAs="String"> and modify the line just below so it says <value>0</value> 4.- Save and close notepad. 5.- Start PrecisionX1 normally. PS: Doing the above disables PX1's auto-update.
thanks for this, problem solved

Wow, yeah. After performing the workaround, it crashes again when you check for updates. When that happens, Windows Event Viewer shows the PrecisionX_x64 executable first with a .net 'System.IndexOutOfRangeException' and then a fault in module KERNELBASE.dll. Has anyone reported this to EVGA yet (the forums don't count)?

I uninstalled version 1.0.7 amd downgraded to v1.0.6 which works fine so far. Setup "check updates" to "Never". This is the only solution for now (at least it doesn't crash) until EVGA comes up with a new fixed version. And BTW the recent Widows Update to .NET has nothing to do with this. Like I said - downgrade and wait for a fix. Mine works perfect, ofc I had to setup my fan curves from scratch but better than nothing.

This worked for me as well. I'm curious how you figured that out.

It’s not the best workaround. If you try to check for updates manually now in the P1 setup It will crash. Downgrade ppl and wait for a fix.

Okay so this just happened to me today after installing the .NET framework update and the latest Nvidia driver for my 1080Ti. I wasn't sure which update caused the issue, but I assume now it's the .NET update. I got frustrated and simply installed the Steam version, which works because by default it disables auto-update. I came to the same conclusion that the update feature was somehow responsible though, because even in the Steam version if you try to manually update, X1 crashes. I'd rather have the standalone X1 installed rather than the Steam version, since I really never ran Steam all the time. But I guess it's no big deal to leave Steam running either. I wonder if the installation issue (failed to open driver-x64.sys) will still cause me issues if I try to go back to the standalone version and disable auto-updates. Has anyone tried yet? Mind you, I couldn't actually uninstall X1 normally as others experienced. I had to use CCleaner to uninstall the standalone version.

I tried that way but it doesn't work for me ): And precision x1 is the only way to modify te oled display from my kingpin I hope that it is possible to analyze this case and find a solution because I wrote a very stupid phrase on OLED and MY FAMILY IS COMING TO VISIT ME. I wanted to die PS: It happens to me as follows: I open the program and it just crashes. No chance of doing anything. Firstly in the steam version. I uninstalled and installed the standalone versions from the most recent to 1.0 and the error remained exactly the same

Hello, if you haven't already, try doing this, enter this in Explorer: " %LocalAppData%/EVGA_Co.,_Ltd " Then delete the folder that starts with "PrecisionX_x64.exe_Url_......." Try this and let us know how that works. Sometimes this does the trick.
