Hi everyone. I am new to this and need some help. My rig has a gtx 1060 and an RX 570. They've been producing close to 700k ppd until now, Im only producing just over 90k ppd. My settings are at full and while I'm working. Yesterday I update the GTX 1060 with the latest drivers and it stopped folding, Ive rolled back the drivers and it started folding again but my PPD are still extremely low. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program but nothing i know how to do is fixing this. Ive also done a search and havent been able to find any answers. My temperatures are the same as they were when folding 700k ppd. Any advice would be appreciated ;)

Think its fixed. I entered my passkey and the ppd jumped up to normal.

Yes, passkey is important for the bonus points ---> After 10 WUs with the passkey you will get the full quick return bonus points What is your Folding name ?
If Microsoft update changes your GPU drivers, you'll have to manually download & install the full Nvidia driver. The Error you will see: [FahCore_21.exe - System Error The program can't start because OpenCL.dll missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem] MS update does Not load the OpenCL part of the Nvidia driver .... just the way it is & you Need the OpenCL to Fold I only install the GPU drive & G-Sync driver ... using custom install - after DDU to remove the old driver This is the thread I started when learning about the ins and outs of Folding: (some good info from fellow Team members) Folding advice new to Folding Day1 PPD 275K

so I am stuck again and tried to the best of my ability to make it work. I downloaded and installed the latest video drivers from geforce not windows and now i get all of these wonderful attempts at folding but no actual work happens. I went to my device manager to install the drivers manually from the NVIDIA display driver folder and it says the latest drivers are already installed. so Ive uninstalled and reinstalled fah but nothing changed except my stupid cpu wanted to fold again. Ive never had this problem and am having trouble wrapping my brain around why this is happening.. I do not know what the DDU or open-CL terms mean...please HALP! edit: I looked into the error messages and it said "01:59:05:ERROR:WU02:FS01:Failed to start core: OpenCL device matching slot 1 not found, try setting 'opencl-index' manually" i googled it and found people talking about copying and pasting x86 to 64 files and what not but i searched and found opencl in both folders...ive never felt so computer illiterate hahaha...ill keep trying

You need the Full Nvidia Driver -- RE: missing OpenCL --> for Folding to Run on your PC ---> See Post #3 where I explain it DDU is ---> Display Driver Uninstaller You do not always want the latest Nvidia driver for Folding .... sometimes the newer ones are actually slower at Folding If you Game on that PC you may "need" the newer driver for the games you pay.

Download Driver 391.35 https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-usDisconnect your Network Uninstall all the NVIDIA Graphics Drivers and Software, restart the Computer when told to and finish uninstalling the NVIDIA Drivers left in the in Add and Remove Programs. Then Run the file you downloaded and do it as Run as administrator. Now the OpenCL is part of the Driver that Windows 10 fails to install so you have to go this route with a NVIDIA Card. Now on your AMD Card it could be the same. Last Mixing NVIDIA and AMD Graphics Cards in the Same Computer is Still a Pain in the Rear and do not recommend folding this way.

I have swapped cards between mobos so often lately that I actually still have this one thing fresh in my failing memory go to > configure > slots and double click on one of your gpu's in the widow that opens up you will see "opencl-index " with -1 in the field change it to 0 then hit "OK" then "save" try to fold. if it fails with that same error, set it to 1, try to fold. then 2, try to fold Whats strange is that I have gone through this and ended up back to -1 > save and then it folds. Real pita if ya ask me Keep in mind , each time you do this it will try to add a cpu slot. make sure to un-tick that choice or just remove it afterwards.

thanks for the help guys, again. I read about changing the slots, tried that then they went to "failed"!!! I did the old driver installation and am back up and running. I didn't have any problems with the AMD/Nvidia setup but I swapped out the AMD card and it all went to heck! Just so I understand correctly, I do not want to update my drivers at all? I do enjoy gaming on this rig and id rather not have to buy another video card just yet.

You shouldn't worry too much about Driver updates. Generally you don't see many game fixes after a few pist launch driver versions. Max folding points can vary based on driver version, but I don't find it worth worrying about. Just make sure to reinstall Nvidia drivers from the Geforce website or Geforce experience after every Windows Major Update and it frequently hoses your OpenCL installation needed for compute tasks like Folding @ Hone.

Mixing Nvidia & AMG GPUs with their respective drivers on 1 PC is just asking for headaches. AMD & Nvidia driver do not play nice usually
