I have a question about OC Scanner.

I am trying to test if my 580 is stable and was wondering if I did it right.  I would run it full screen and max resolution and uncheck load limit.

When I Check "Heavy Mode" the temps hit 61 Celsius
When it is un-checked, the temps go to 70 Celsius
    Drivers are: 263.09

Is it possible that OC Scanner is not pushing the card to its limit?  Or is this normal?
Actually, Folding right now with a 6811 project and its at 71 Celsius.
    I guess it is normal.

    Thanks for the Help.

That is because the 580 will automatically throttle if the load is too large, so in your case it is better to leave it unchecked.

Sorry, but I'm a noob what concerns occ. I'm a non-overclocker and just interested in how good my card is.
My question is how to use this tool. I can't find a "how to" anywhere. How can I check out the possible clocks, like a lot of user post them here. I thought this tool overclockes the card for test reasons and shows the hightest stable clocks of the card.  Or does it just prove stability?

Ok. That obviously the job of the precision tool.

The E does not spin for me, and when I close the stress test it "not responding" message comes up and I have to alt+ctrl+delete to close it.

Edit: Tested this on my dual core system and the E doesn't spin either but I can stop the stress test without it having to force it to shutdown.

Why can't you use it Stray Bullet? The last version worked fine with my GTX285s; I don't know why this version wouldn't.

With regards to the spinning, see here.

    And an explaination here.

    Or here:
The "artifact scanner" is simply a test which compares the current rendered frame to the previously rendered frame.  It detects artifacts by comparing each pixel of the current frame to the last frame.  Any pixel mismatch is counted as an artifact.  For this reason the EVGA E doesn't rotate in artifact scanner mode since the rotation of the E would cause thousands to millions of pixel mismatches rendering the test useless.  This is also why it is not recommended to do the artifact scanner in windowed mode and not recommended to drag an artifact scanner window around the desktop or drag other windows in front of the artifact scanner since all of these actions could cause a false positive.
