Yeah in the OP (original post) there is a link for the official owners spreadsheet so that everyone knows who a fellow owner is.  Some people thought it would be funny to screw around with it and messed it all up; However, it only took about 30 seconds and 6 clicks to fix but still it wasn't funny.  I actually paid for that and for someone to screw around with it that way is not funny.  I can no longer trust anything so now it will no longer be public.

Ah, understood. Always someone who wants to muck things about, sadly.

Dear twong128,

I am very sorry to hear that you are having a issue. I can confirm that this is likely not water or moisture as these are unable to enter the area that you are referring to during the manufacturing process. I can assure you that you do not need to return this to Newegg as we are here to work with you.

Please let me know if you should have the same problem after a little bit of use and I will work with you directly.

>I would return it as long as it isn't just a bubble under the protective coating :)
I did remove the protective plastic clear sheet. The spot is inside the screen
and has the shape of an eclipse about 1" across and 1/2" high. It is rather noticeable.

Also maxvanblade reported in another thread:
>Got it today. Had a spot in the middle like the screen inside was touching something but over about 1/2 hour it went away.

Hope the spot will go away soon.
very disappointed if I have to return it back to Newegg :-(

Hi Chris:
Thanks for your reply.
I re-opened the package and noticed that the large black spot was still there on the Note 7. After I took a picture of the Note 7 the black spot literally shrunk before my eye. After using the device for half an hour, the black spot disappeared completely.
I will be sending you the picture of the Note 7 with the black spot. I don't think I have enough posts to upload the picture.
My problem is solved. I will cancel the RMA.
Thanks again.

New owner here. I also had the mysterious black spot when I received it. Has gone away, but appears if I push when off. I'm happy with it, but couldn't get my Moga Pro to work. Has anyone tried to to pair their NT7 with a Moga controller?

Mine paired up no problem. I set the controller on A and paired it using the pivot app. It did take a good 20-30 sec to complete.
So far I have played Dead Trigger 2, Arma Tactics, GT Racing 2, MC4 and Real Boxing with the controller. Good response and performance on those games.

Just received a 359mb OTA update to the OS, said to improve performance and stability of 4.2.2. I'll edit this post to add anything.

Update: Flashed it without any problem, attached is the current info.

Yup, I've already enjoyed the wonder that is hooking this baby up to the TV and playing some Riptide 2 with my Moga. I do have to say, they need to work on fitting the video output to a standard 720p signal though; there are little black bars on the left and right, and the top and bottom are cut off a little... granted, it's fitting a 1280x800 output to a 1280x720 signal, but couldn't it just cut off the bottom where the system buttons are like my A500 does? I'm also curious how you can get a higher-res output, like 1080p... at the moment, there don't appear to be any settings or anything, so it just mirrors the 720p output of the screen.

I've been able to connect, but then it would disconnect randomly. Driving me crazy.

Do you have any other devices close by that are also paired with it and BT is on? I have had random disconnects in the past because of that.

Thanks for posting this info -- I was curious if there was some setting to force the HDMI resolution to 1080p -- unfortunately it looks like there isn't.  There isn't even "console" available as it is in the SHIELD.

What's new in the 4.3 update?  Is there a way to set the HDMI resolution?  Is there console mode?

No Console Mode.  You can move games to SD.  didn't see anything new for HDMI, however, i haven't tried the sRGB/Native mode when using HDMI yet.  maybe try Native when using HDMI?

check out 4.3 update thread.

I have seen a few for the Hp Slate 7 but not many just for the N7 here is one "http://www.illumishieldstore.com/iLLumiShield-Protectors-Anti-Bubble-Anti-Fingerprint-Replacements/dp/B00GR8UDKG"   but it shows out of stock.    I may order this one   "http://www.skinomi.com/sk14755-hp-slate-7-screen-protector.html" for the Hp and see how it works,  I will let every one know when I get it. right now I know of 3 devices like the N7 thats the Hp Slate 7 Extreme, Advent Vega Tegra Note, and Xolo Play Tegra Note. I would think most accessories would be interchangeable. Hope this helps...

Just as a fun side note, I remembered hearing that Sony's Xperia Z Ultra could work with a pencil, so I tried it on my Tab 7, and lo and behold, it works! It makes for quite a nice stylus, actually. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Hey, that's a neat trick! Do you have a ball point pen (with no ink) that you can try to see if it works?

"Owners thread " ? How many people actually have one of these things ? The way it looks through Newegg's lack of stock and the total absence of stock on this site , at most what 100 people might have one, I think EVGA gave more of them out for reviews than they actually sold.

Yes this is the owners thread an unofficial source from Newegg has told me they sold out of the original 200 they received and still have to fulfill a couple more pre orders.  Which is very surprising usually tablets don't sell like this but I guess people are just now realizing that buy an IPad is a horrible idea and Crapple sucks....

I don't think we need to drag this into that mud slinging fight.  I think this is a different market but that's for a different thread.

Thanks for the heads up on the screen protectors. I left the plastic on mine until it decided to come off today and now I want to get something to protect it while I am waiting for the replacement cover to come from newegg.

Anyone have an odd touchscreen 'pausing' issue when playing games?
When I play Shadowgun:Deadzone everything runs buttery smooth, EXCEPT now and then everything just pauses.  When this happens, touch screen is unresponsive and I can't do anything for 4-5 seconds.  Visually everything is moving and I can see others moving, my TN7 however doesn't accept any screen touches.  Thoughts?

If that quantity of 200 is accurate, then that sounds more like a pre-production run than a production quantity.

I've only been able to find screen protectors for the HP Slate 7 Extreme. The HP Slate 7 Extreme is the same exact device as the Tegra Note 7. The only difference being that the HP Slate 7 Extreme has a differently shaped back and is silver in color.
