No sense in saying it could be this or that before you get back home or you'll really go nuts thinking about it all night. What you could do is click "User Control Panel" at the top of the page and then select "Signature and Comment" to list all of your system specs. You'll see my system specs in my signature and many others here. It helps us know what kind of hardware you have when we're trying to troubleshoot a problem. It's a lot easier than having to type everything down every time you have a question.

0x116 & 0x117 causes:

#1 Bad video driver or corrupt video driver.
#2 Defective video card.
#3 Insufficient power, defective PSU.

 Solutions to the above problems:

#1 Preform a clean installation of video drivers.
  1. Download & save THIS driver to your desktop.
  2. Double click on 326.80-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-beta.exe located on your desktop.
  3. Select custom advanced install.
  4. Under custom installation options uncheck all options but graphics driver & physx system software, check mark perform clean install, then click next to install the driver, reboot when asked.
#2 Test the video card in another computer to see if you can replicate the BSOD. Option 2: Use a known working video card in your system to see if you can replicate the BSOD. Option 3: Take the defective video card to a local computer repair shop to have it tested. Option 4: RMA the card.

#3 Check and make sure all PSU cables are tightly secure to hardware and PSU then retest. Option 2: RMA the PSU.

Ok, looks like I have some work to do tomorrow evening. But guess what?! It never fails! As I was leaving for work, I look to see if my monitors were off and lone behold.. Computer was restarting.. Trying to boot back up with no success. That usually happens after a crash for me. I had to manually shut it down and left it until I can get back to it. How much you want to bet it's another 117 bug code. I'm sooo tired if dealing with issues on this thing lol.

Defective ram can cause this condition.

That's a lot of info. Lol. I don't have another working computer so that's out. There's soo much to try and do, such little time. But I'll take that and try 1 at a time. Thanks!

It might be a good idea to test your RAM by downloading Memtest 86+ and buring the ISO file to disk. Restart your PC and have it boot to the CD. Let Memtest run for several passes to check for errors. You can let it run overnight to be certain.

aww man.. I did that.. well the burning the iso file to a disc. I could not get it to boot.. even after changing the bios settings to boot on cd-rom.  I did the windows mem test and all signs pointed to nothing wrong. I reset (physically) my ram and still good.  This is just irritating...

Doing a search for " hal.dll hal.dll+166b1 " I get a lot of reference to 'Network Drivers' or 'SATA Drivers'. Try updating or re-installing your Network drivers.

This is an EVGA motherboard? Why would you have to pay to download the Network Drivers from their support page?

Don't pay for that stuff! I got tricked into buying something from Stardock that guaranteed to fix my errors and $49.99 later my PC was worse and I had to re-install Vista to get it to run again. They're just trying to make money by taking it from your pocket and puting it in theirs and giving you nothing in return.

So what about the GPU temps, are they nominal now? I mean fixing the bsod is awesome but if the thing is idling at +60 I dunno if I would feel comfy with that. Unless it's in the nineties and you have no ac....

My apologies, I should've been more informative with that. My GPU temps are pretty normal now, with a more aggressive fan profile at least. I have yet to see it go over 62c under load. Idle, it idles like it should.. Under 40c. Right now it's at 46c an all I have open is the AB and this page. But that's ok.. And if need be I'll keep adjusting the fan speed. I haven't yet.. Works fine. Hopfully this helps a little bit.
