You might've seen people on the forums that have signatures with images like this:

This is a folding@home quick-stats badge I designed, which you can place in your signature, website, wherever. Its stats are based on those from folding.extremeoverclocking.com, which I have found to be fairly consistent with kakaostats.

If you would like to use it, go to:
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/search.php

...and find your user ID number. You can get it from your EOC user stats URL, like this:
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=385045

For the basic white-on-black badge, plug your user ID (that's the numeric bit, 385045 in this example) into this url:
http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/385045.png

Then, in the EVGA forums, select 'Forum Profile' in the top right corner. Find 'Signature' and add the following:
[image]http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/385045.png[/image]

...and if you want to be able to click the badge to go to your stats page, wrap it in a link tag like this:
[link=http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=385045]
[image]http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/385045.png[/image]
[/link]

...replacing '385045' with your own ID, of course.

that's it!

Chimp Challenge 2009 Badge

This year is the first year EVGA is participating in the Chimp Challenge, and I highly encourage everyone to take part! All you have to do is change your folding name to EVGApes for the duration of the competition. We're done with this year's Chimp Challenge, and congrats OCN on the win! Everyone can still use these badges though, EVGA or not!

Those participating in 2009's Chimp Challenge can use a special badge to display their team's information. Once again, this is not restricted to team EVGA. All you have to do is go to the badge maker, plug in the EOC ID number for your CC name, and have it generate one for you. The style you choose will be ignored, since all the CC09 badges are designed with a consistent theme (like a jersey or team uniform).

For Team EVGA (EVGApes), you can simply use this:
http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/449361.png

And here's how the badge looks:

OR

Alternatively, you can display the CC09 badge along with your personal badge in a single, compact image. To do this, simply go create a personal badge as usual, and select the button labeled Add Chimp Challenge 2009 Badge. This will overlay the CC09 badge on top of your own, hiding your personal stats but displaying your username and team. As an example:

http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/nvidia01/nvidia01/1025/0/50/0/0/0/0/50/200/0/0/0/0/255/255/255/0.png

OR

You can manually change your current personalized badge over to the dual badge by adding 1024 to the first numeric parameter in the badge string, as follows:

http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/nvidia01/nvidia01/1/0/50/....../0.png
http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/nvidia01/nvidia01/1025/0/50/....../0.png

Usage

These badges can otherwise be used just like any other image -- They can be posted in threads by using the above code, they can be placed on websites by using something along the lines of:
<img src="http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/385045.png"/>
and so on.

Do note that they only update when they're linked to directly; If you save one to your hard drive, you will be saving the image with the stats displayed on it at that moment. Don't be afraid to hotlink; That's how they were designed to be used.

Windows Sidebar/Desktop Gadget

Info coming soon.

Customization

You can customize your sig badge by heading to the BadgeMaker at:

...and playing with the settings. Give it your user ID, tell it which icon you want, and play with the color settings. The BadgeMaker will generate the badge for you, give you a link to use, as well as the appropriate signature code.

Colors can be defined as RGB (red, green, blue) values. for any given object, you pick a value for red, green, and blue, and they mix together to create new colors.

To easily find a color, you can use this: http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html
just click on a color and it will give you the RGB values to use for it.

You can change the color of four parts of the image:
1) Background: Defaults to black, but you may change it to any color you wish. Bright colors not recommended in conjunction with bright text, as it will make the text hard to read.
2) Background Overlay/Texture: You may select an overlay, which applies a subtle texture to the badge background to enhance its appearance.
Color values can be positive or negative since overlay textures span a variety of colors.Positive values add an amount of the given color; negative values subtract it.
3) Icon Glow: There is a glow behind the icon that can be enabled with a checkbox in the BadgeMaker.
4) Icon: The icon itself can be colorized. Color values can be positive or negative, just like background overlays.

5) Text: You may set the color of the text. Dark colors are not recommended against dark backgrounds.

Example skins

Replace the '0' at the end of the string (right before the '.png') with your user ID number from EOC.

NVIDIA Green:

http://piro.pirocast.net/badge/nvidia02/1/12/12/100/100/100/200/20/8/50/200/200/255/0.png

Notes

  • It will only display the team name if you're on team evga (not that i need to say this here, really), otherwise it will simply display the team number.
  • This image is a semitransparent PNG (i.e. the background is transparent, and the edges are smooth, so it blends in with any background color).
As a result, any browser that cannot properly render semitransparent PNGs (i.e. IE6) will render it as though it's encased inside a black box. If this is a problem for too many people, I can make a very quick adjustment to make it blend in properly here (though it won't anywhere else) without using transparency. But really now, who could possibly still be using IE6? :)

    Yeah, I had already taken care of the links in the thread itself, and updated my signature a few moments ago or so I thought. Looks like the sig editor ignored my changes. It's a little annoying that there's no way to switch out of rich text mode in the new forum. ^^;;

edit: yay, all links should work now.

i don't understand this, my info isn't coming up on the site http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/search.php furthermore, the EVGA folding team (111065) doesn't come up either... so am i just retarded or is there a deeper issue I'm not aware of?

It takes a while until you show up on EOC. First you have to send in a completed wu, then stanford has to run an update, then EOC needs to run an update. So it can take up to 10h after you have finished your first wu until you show up there
    Here you go
