Hi All, newbie to overclocking here, so apologies for the elementary type questions.
I recently upgraded my video card to a GTX 550 Ti from a GTS 250.  I'm running V285.62 drivers and Precision 2.0.2.
My question is, at what point of OCing my card do I need to worry about increased voltages, if ever?  Stock and OC frequencies I tried are as follows:
Core Clock - 951 --> 984
Shader Clock - 1903 -> 1968
Memory Clock - 2178 -> 2239

Using the above OC settings I played about 5 - 10 mins of Crysis 2, with no apparent issues, except, my rig was giving out a single beep, maybe 2 - 3 times per minute.  Any idea what that may indicate?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey there, yeah the beeping is pretty weird.  I have a the same 550Ti FPB same stock clocks as yours.  My stock voltage is defaulted at 1.112 and i was able to hit 1022 core and 2214 memory on that voltage.  1034 would stop and downclock my card (since thats a safety feature that these things have), for me in like 2-3 minutes of playing Crysis 2 and the Crysis 1 benchmark program would do the same.

    I increased my voltage one step up in the newest version EVGA Precision to 1.125 and i now can Play Crysis 2 with no problems and i ran the Crysis 1 benchmark program for like 10-15 loops in a row like 3-4 times with no problems.  If i go up to 1045 core it downclocks again.  Im really happy with the performance it gave me at these stock voltage and im going to keep them at the 1022 core and 2214 memory since its running great for me

    What voltage are you running at stock?

    Hey KopyKat, thanks for the reply and information.
    I found alot more information at another apparently more helpful board.  They suggested leaving the memory timings alone, and just cranking the core/shader timings.  Doing that, with limited available time, I'm up to 1010/2020 there and no more beeping.

    Per GPU Shark, available with the Furmark testing app, my voltage in max. performance state is 1.100V.  No idea how accurate this is.

    Its weird, I get very inconsistent results when I test Crysis 2 with OC speeds vs stock, depending whether its a clean boot prior or not, etc.  Biggest gain for me is just turning off Vsync.  To run DX11 games well will require I faster/better card, methinks.

    Yeah Crysis 2 with DX11 and all its features is actually really demanding.  I run all my games in DX9 by choice because i find it looks great enough for me and every game runs perfect on high settings lol.
