The problem is that on initial boot up the computer hangs for about 3 minutes with the following message:
Marvell 88SE91xx Adapter - BIOS Version 1.0.0.1029.
Initializing...

Originally the message was for BIOS version 1.0.0.1012 and also hung for 3 minutes, but I just updated the firmware in anticipation of getting a SATA III SSD. Still the computer hangs and the driver (1.0.0.1042) has been updated. I went into  the Marvell Bios with Control-M and could not get anything but the pop-up [wizard configuration] (or something along those lines).

Inside the Marvell Bios was the following information.
Vendor ID:1B4B
Device ID: 9123
Revision ID: B1
BIOS: 1.0.0.1029
Firmware Version: 2.2.0.118
PCIe Speed Rate: 5.0 GPS
Configure SATA as: AHCI Mode
Support Mode: Raid0 Raid1

Any idea what is going on or do I need to RMA this board?
EDIT: Nothing is currently connected to the SATA III ports

Everything is connected properly. I just updated the Bios (82) and sata controller firmware.

One thing I didn't mention is that no drives are connected to the sata III ports. Would that cause the problem.

I disabled the SATA III controller and it boots fine. Will re-enable it when I upgrade to a SATA III SSD.
