........  If this is posted in the wrong place, please for give me ....

After a month of trying to figure out on starting a second system i finally went ahead and put it on line, Folding 24/7.
with my main system running 24/7 as well.  Now keep in mind my main system is also my daily user PC..

And i just checked the PPD points, just one day.
Before i get in to that, let me list what my second system is running in the way of the build, to kind of give a ideal .
My second system is running a
AsRock Fatality AB350 Gaming K4 mother board, AM4 socket.
CPU is a AMD A8-9600 10compute cores 4c+6G on board graphic CPU running stock speeds 3.4ghz
a Old Gigabyte R2 280X with out the stock fan - broke a fan blade - So i took a Old Intel heatsink and removed the fan, and screwed it to the heat sink of the GPU.
GSkill Ripjaws 2400mhz 16gb - yes over kill  but didnt want to break up the set of 4 ..
M.2 120gb Kingston .
power is a EVGA 600B case is the EVGA DG-76.
with this set up it has given me another 65k to 70k depending on if i use the PC for anything other than just folding.  so far its been just for folding other than updates and downloading some software so i can keep track of CPU temps and GPU temps ..

my main PC spec`s are as folllowed.
EVGA Z390ftw
Intel i7 8700k
EVGA 1070FTW
EVGA DG-77 case
Corsair RM1000 power supply OVER KILL ..
Adata Z1 16gb 3000mhz
custom water cooled..
This system give some place around 783.889 to 985K depending on if i am on it or not ..
last night i wrote down what the night started with in the way of PPD 16,559,797  at 8:30pm my time and right now as of 4:30PM it sets i am at 17,158,839 (599,096 )  so the second system has give exta PPD, so far of around 50k. with that extra 50k a day i have a great filling i will hit for the fist time in about 10 months, i will hit 23m by the end Feb .
not a bad way to gain some little extra points ..
using some system parts i had laying around and a New case i picked up on my last turn in of EVGA bucks ..

So to the Gentleman ( ProDigit )that wrote this posting ::  https://forums.evga.com/HARDWARE-GUIDE-Folding-at-Home-what-hardware-should-I-get-m2927907.aspx
THANK YOU very much that give me away to get things going on the other system..    I will be upgrading the system , ok the GPU when i can.  for now the R9 280X will get me going ..

    Hey there!
    Thanks for the appreciation!
My main recommendation from here, is to invest in good GPUs.
While AMD works, Nvidia is just better at folding (lower power output, means less heat).
The higher end GPUs also give an insane amount of PPD, on the newer core 22.
Another benefit to these higher power GPUs, is that you can always dial down the power envelope, allowing them to fold more efficiently.
So if your budget is ~$30/month (a ~300W system), you could either buy a mid-range 200W GPU, or buy a top tier 300-400W GPU, running at 200W, and benefit much higher points, for nearly the same power consumption on the wall.

if i do upgrade the cpu, it will be with my 1070ftw in my main system, and that system will get a better CPU .  maybe a 2070 if i can get it worked out .  if not ill get two more 1070s.  and then upgrade when i can ..  my price range for a second/new GPU, is around 200.00  bough what my 1070 cost me used ..  cant get a NEW one to much cost wise .. on a budget and with very very limited funds..

Ghost13, looks like you're on the right track. I appreciate your efforts, I can definitely understand about being on a budget.. Hopefully you can retire the 280x soon.

If the GPU is the R9 280X, it'll be close to 1060 territory (~250-300k PPD)
I can't find any info on an R2 280X though...

That list is incorrect. My 1060 3gb never got more than 330-350 kppd. In the list, the 3gb is faster than the 6gb, which we know is not true.

Didn't make the list. Wasn't referencing the 1060s either. However all 4 of my 1060 3gb pull 375-475 depending on the wu. The 1 6gb card gets a very small increase. All 5 are gigabyte brand, dual fan gaming model with fans at 100% and stay between 58-64c colder if I open the windows.

Thanks for the list. I was wondering how the 280x compared to my GTX 780. I should see what it can do on the newer WU’s.
