Purchased barebone system and added a 1080 TI board in Aril 2018. Everything was great. Have a 4k monitor but rarely go up that high, started playing my first games and really liked it.
The last driver update causes my board to crash the screen and I get eiter a solid light green or more often a white screen. After many many reboots I disabled the 1080ti in device settings and could run the computer for hours and days with no problems. Another update came out on 03052019 so I tried it figuring maybe problem was fixed. Probelm got worse, now as soon as I put in my pin number for windows the screen goes white and I can not do anything.
I tried many things. I am now down to reinstalling a fresh install of windows 10 pro tonight. Since I already started I can not go back now, but is this a board problem or a driver problem or a windows problem? If you have a suggestion please keep it on simpler side. TIA

After you're done reinstalling windows make sure you install the older driver that worked to rule out driver issues.

Here is a suggestion related to drivers installation: Always make a backup prior to updating any drivers.
Then if there's a problem you simply restore your system.

I know it sounds simple but too many people don't make any backup at all.
And making backups is the most important thing everybody should do when it comes to using a computer.
