You should be able to use a USB keyboards on that X58 motherboard.

If you like a nice mechanical RGB keyboard. I recommend checking out Corsair RGB keyboards. I own Corsair K70 Lux RGB keyboard. All the features work out of the box like they should. Volume doesn't bug out like you see on keyboards that have a slider for the volume control. You can check out Lewis Gerschwitz youtube for examples of game themed profiles you find for Corsair RGB keyboards. Lewis is in the process of updating most of his custom profiles to support Corsair new ICUE software.

With BlackFriday just around the corner, you might find Corsair mechanical RGB keyboards on sale.

It doesn't look like Corsair keyboards will work with PS/2 adapter.  If you want to go the cheap route, search ebay for PS/2 keyboards.

They're still out there. This one from Newegg is rather basic, but should suit your needs: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4RE4W79159

If you want some of that '90s "Multimedia" nostalgia, this one from Mitsumi is pretty radical: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAB656604289

Missing the taste of the iFruit computing days? Then this will be a sweet treat: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0AJ3CZ3885
