Fin started looking for a new place in Bend Oregon. Ive talked to four property management companies, and the two told me I have to have perfect credit, perfect work history, perfect rental history, but im working with two of the PMC's that will work with me.  Michelle(my late wife)broke our lease back  in Arkansas when she started getting sick, the lease was only 1.5 month old. Because she got sick I havent been working "I am now", and i moved around alot after Michelle passed, just need to find myself and where i was happy again, and that was here in the mountain desert.

Anyways, this is pretty much just a rant, and needed to vent, and its such crap that property management companies, and property owners have such power, dont we have rights, was bad enough I screwed my back from my former employer and wasnt allowed to sure em.

So, spending the next few weeks looking for a new place for the wife and I in Bend, driving two hours a day sucks.  Shouldnt this be alot eazyer, its not like Im a felon, and even felons have rights....

If you can't find anyone who will be lenient with you, you might need to find a dump and start your reputation over from the ground up.  Rebuilding your stable life in a snooty place like Bend, OR won't make things any easier.  Sisters, OR is relatively close, beautiful in its own way, and easier to move into; but it is gentrifying pretty strong right now as well.

Sorry to hear that Knight. You have been through a lot the last couple years. I hope you are able to find a decent place. I hate the system you are describing. Unfortunately the management people don't look at circumstances.
^^ Is sisters, OR an option for you as Ty_ger described?? Maybe look for a individual homeowner that wants to rent?

I looked at two apartments, same owner, in Redmond today, the wife manages the place and her husband is head of the maintenance, turn in the apps in the morning. These guys seem to be good folk.  Did have one other one apartment call the wife yesterday morning, so might have something there.

As far as Bend, we work in Bend, but Redmond might panout.  Only 20min drive to Bend.

Good luck. Last time I rented a few years ago they wanted to do a yearly review and it was the most annoying thing ever since I was a manager at my job with over a decade at the same place. Since I worked the same shift they always called and would be talking to me to verify my employment which wasn't allowed. Every year it was the same thing and not a single piece of paper work rolled over year to year so it really was like filling out a rental application when literally I had the same exact job.

I finally ended up cashing out some of my stocks and bought a house. If you can afford to do it that is really the way to go since now I know people with small two bedroom apartments in Eugene Oregon paying more then what I do for a three bedroom house. I doubled the square footage of what I was renting.

It will be a few years before we can get a house.  I like to call Bend  "Fake Hippie Town"

Most likely be Redmond area, when we do buy a house. Im not or have 1mill for a freaking 900ft .25 of a lot for a house in Bend, those guys think their a Colorado Springs and think everyone makes .5mill a year...

We fin got us a place in Bend, will be a nice less than 10min drive for the wife.  I wont miss driving two hours a day.

Got a one bedroom, and the complex has 2 and 3 bedroom townhouse we can upgrade to later on. But $1100 for a one bedroom just seems crazy in a town of only 80K....    Pretty stoke about being close to work and our own place again, since the inlaws are back from their summer trip.  All n All Im liking Central Oregon, other than the idiot drivers, Id hate to see these drivers in real snow or a real thunder/tornado/ice storms.....
