I mean holy cow.  I can even get asus aura to retain my colors properly and let me tell ya, aura and livedash are a hot mess.  Off topic but led color coding must be some of the hardest complex code on the planet.  I wouldnt know but if my experiences are anything to go by.

Anyways, I'm pushing 40.  I no longer find it appealing to have a disco party in my office.  I have successfully disabled all RBG except for my evga hydrocopper waterblock.  Last night I got to the point I actually opened up the pc to pull the damn power lead to the lights but then realized its tucked on the inner edge of the card and id have to remove the card and theres not a lot of slack in the tubing etc so aborted at least for the moment.

Back to trying to solve via software.

So first and foremost, i used LEDSync on its own for awhile.  It showed my card as a 2080ti and life was good.  At some point in the recent past it stopped working or i was compelled to check for an updated version since it had been a loooong time.

I forget the specific point but it stopped working.  It will change the color fine, it will persist through a restart fine.  However the minute I sleep my pc (nightly on a timer) when it wakes up (every morning on a timer) the light is back to blue.

I decided to uninstall it, delete the ledsync folder and install the whole kaboodle ala precision.  Same exact issue.  Add in the fact the LEDSync button in precision does nothing.  I click on it and its like they forgot to remove it as it just does.. nothing.

If i open ledsync manually through a shortcut it will light up the button though....

Its like its not linked to the button.

So to add insult to injury, The LED page in precision can show/does show a different color scheme than the one in LEDSync and I can just go back and forth and neither updates the other but both will change the LED.   Either way neither will persist after sleep....

I have purged both and deleted the folders/cfg files.   I thought this stuff was supposed to be saved to the firmware now?

Even outside of that I tried to leave the software running in the tray and when i sleep and wake the pc, its blue again anyways.  Anyone have ANY idea so i dont have to disconnect the power to the block?

Also LEDSync doesnt even show my card as a 2080ti anymore, it just says "NVIDIA RTX"

So through exploring old macrium images I have (as far back as i have them, wish I would have saved them further back, i started to as of now, but i digress)

Anyhow, a few months ago I apparently had 1.1.0.2 and the current version is 1.1.1.  I noticed that the old version appears to have WinRing0 folder in the EVGA folder alongside the LED Sync folder.   This is no longer present in the newer installs of LEDSync.

    Is this meaningful?

worth noting i did flash the most recent mcu firmware (rbg firmware) i found linked around here.   Thats what got it stuck on blue, was stuck reverting to green before that....

Would love to try an older version of that but just as a process of elimination as I dont imagine that would resolve it nor is the root cause.

whelp, was able to resolve my own issue it seems.  Using LEDSync on its own is a no-go.  I have used afterburner for years and was trying to get around using precision when I first needed light control.  I found that subcomponent and that you could use it on its own and assumed its how precision controlled the lighting.

It appears it something else entirely (handles syncing with multiple evga rbg) which also explains why I cant even click it in precision in the newer versions even though its installed.  (should code out the button!)

That being said.  turning off the lighting via precision itself does seem to hold through sleep.  Doesnt appear to cause any issue with afterburner either so I guess im gonna be okay as far as that goes.
