Since the 3000 series is flooding the market, why the pandemic prices suddenly? Just yesterday the 3080 12GB was $799. Rumor had it that prices were going to drop even more (according to someone working at Nvidia, who shall not be named). Then I see just now that it's n $1349. I am almost in tears as it wasn't possible for me to buy it in July. EVGA is the only company I've ever trusted. I don't like AMD cards and I detest some of the other Nvidia manufacturers due to terrible customer support and quality control. I am beyond disappointed. Please, EVGA Gods, have mercy on me!

The price you are looking at for $1349 is the hydro copper model. Scroll down the EVGA RTX 3080 products page and you'll see the price for $799 for the XC3 model. Sadly it looks like stock is depleted and it is unknown if EVGA will get anymore RTX 3080 12GB stock. With the next gen GPUs inbound sometime in the next months or weeks it would not surprise me to see more stock depletion of other models.

If you need a video card right now the RTX 3080ti XC3 ultra can be found for $1099.99. You need to make sure your PSU can support it.

The one that I was looking at was in my cart yesterday, but I took it out thinking the price would drop. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!  Newegg is selling it for around $850. I guess I'm stuck with Asus (the reported next best thing). But, and I am not kidding, I have never bought something of theirs that didn't have a diode or something just fall off, save for one USED motherboard back in 2001. I'm talking 4 or 5 new motherboards, and their support was horrendous. Haven't had one of their GPUs before though.

No one beats EVGA's customer support though, so I guess I'll just have to wait and pray.

More than likely the instant rebates were programmed for a specific amount of time, and the timeframe ran out was all. EVGA will be back in the office at 0900 pacific, so they may update information after that.

Prices keep dropping where I am. I bought a 3090Ti back on 7/15 from my local Microcenter for $700 off. Today I went in and got another $106 back because Microcenter dropped prices even MORE on GPUs and the card is now $800 off! I am loving it!!

If you detest terrible (or no) customer support, you're not going to like Asus. I've had several of their products, and they've failed to provide anything resembling support for any of them.

I wish EVGA did that for their own store. I love close to a Micro Center and that's where I bought a few of my EVGA GPU's from in the past. Sadly they don't get the KPE 3090ti or Z690 DARK mobo's or else I would've marched right back in there to get $500 + $150 back.

Sad thing is people think that this next generation magically for the first time in forever NVIDIA will have enough stock of cards at launch without it selling out for months. Watching Jay2Cent I have to agree he is probably right that now would be the time to upgrade if you need to instead of have a want to upgrade. Generation to generation performance increase are not that great while the cost of cards could increase if they see a huge demand to the "pandemic pricing".

I'm confused, this 'Back to School' promo EVGA is running seems pretty good.

Honestly if you are looking for the absolute best deal possible, I would maybe wait till this year's Black Friday/Cyber Monday.  It will be the perfect storm.

If a new gen is coming eventually they will stop making the old cards to switch over to the new. So I'd say eventually the price could rise near the end cause there won't be enough stock for demand.

prices are still low afaik by looking at the site now. Really wish there was a 3090 ti hydrocopper, that's the only thing i'd consider upgrading to from a 3080 hc. Really wanting a 4090 hc so imma try really hard for that when it comes out.

That may take some time, the current HC block design is at the end of life for keeping up with the heat loads of these new cards. Going to really need a new design with a center out distribution, which was rendered on the 3090ti then canceled...hopefully they will be working on one .

At this point if a new generation is right around the corner I would guess what will happen is new cards will not be made and they are selling through inventory. If you wait and think that prices will drop more you could run into the supply running out and the first release of the next generation selling out instantly. That is what Jay2Cent has been posting he feels will happen since we never see the release supply last without instantly selling out.

I really don’t know what will happen but it’s probably going to have a time when the 30XX series is not being made and the 40XX series is being scalped and that will likely push the cost of a new 30XX series up.

IMO, wait. You should be able to buy a 3090ti for nearly as cheap as the equivalent performance i.e. whatever 4070 pricing is. The caveat is the Vram, we don't know how much of a premium the 24gb will command over whatever the 4070 comes with. I was in microcenter the other day and their shelves and cages are still stacked with current gen AMD/Nvidia cards. If an item is on sale long enough, it's no longer a sale, that's just the price.
