I was looking at my DG-85 and it appears the only way you can remove the control board is to first pull off the glass panel. Then you can remove the control panel. The glass panel appears to be connected using adhesive, so may be tricky to get off. The control panel on the other hand is just attached with screws. So once you get that glass off both cases, swapping the glass and the panels should be a breeze.
FYI I also noticed in the lower left hand corner of the board there are three boxes, DG-85, DG-86, and DG-87. Same board must be used on the models, but with some parts missing. Like for the DG-85 the space for the LEDs are on the board, and you can tell where they would go, they're just not there.
