Hello

My current PSU, , Model: 220-G2-0550-Y1 , EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2, 80+ GOLD 550W, Fully Modular, purchased in 2016, seems to be glitching and causing shut downs of my computer.

Can anyone tell me the best new replacement (EVGA brand) for this unit?   The computer is used mostly for internet, home office stuff, and watching YouTube.  No gaming.   With all the various names and models out there, I am having a hard time determining the ideal replacement.

Thank you very much

Hey 76177,
I don't know about "best", but i would go with a G6 850W or a G6 1000W if i would need to purchase one right now.

EVGA X570 DARK (1.09) [manual SoC, AUTO high!]
AMD Ryzen 5800X3D [-25 -25 -25 -20 -25 -25 -25 -25]
GSKILL Royal Elite (Gold) 3600C14 (B-die) [F4-3600C14D-32GTEGA]
EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra
EVGA SuperNOVA P6 1000

What are your system specs?

Have you 100% determined that the PSU is actually causing the shutdowns?   If so, your unit should still be under the 7 year warranty, so you may be able to RMA: https://www.evga.com/warranty/power-supplies/

While 550w is low by today's standards, if you aren't doing any gaming or anything super power intensive, 550w may be okay for you, but I would still probably recommend something slightly higher.

EVGA Brand:
https://www.evga.com/Prod...aspx?pn=220-P2-0650-X1

I do not recommend the G5 line-up, it's cheap for a reason. I don't know enough about the G6 line-up to give a good opinion.

This is what I'd recommend:

Main PC | Secondary PC
Intel i9 10900K | Intel i7 9700K

MSI MEG Z490 ACE | Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Master
ASUS TUF RTX 3090 | NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super
32GB G.Skill Trident Z Royal 4000MHz CL18 | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4266MHz CL17
SuperFlower Platinum SE 1200w | Seasonic X-1250
Samsung EVO 970 1TB and Crucial P5 1TB | Intel 760p 1TB and Crucial MX100 512GB
Cougar Vortex CF-V12HPB x9 | Cougar Vortex CF-V12SPB-RGB x5

No GPU correct?  Also missing some other system info, but assuming no GPU, you should be just fine with a 550w.

I am not sure if you have the time to wait for an RMA/warranty or how long the backlog might be to get you a replacement PSU, but I would maybe reach out to EVGA customer service to get a bit more info here (assuming the PSU is faulty).
