dogofwar, I dont see that mentioned a price range in your post. I had the Logitech G930's wireless, Christmas present from the wife. They worked fine, but would constantly drop then regain connection. About every 40 seconds or so. I tried to fix them by searching for solutions, but non ever worked. It was a known software glitch. I told my wife about it just recently(3 months back). She asked why i never mentioned it before.. Because they were a gift and i didnt want to get any others, so she would not get upset. She got me these... https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-7?country=US&gclid=CjwKCAiA4vbSBRBNEiwAMorERyxC5upHFkvmRG-uigBOIS6iytWx2sbLr_IYKHs6XAl0pj88MHmfYBoCUgAQAvD_BwE#arctis-7-black Best ever, hear everything! Never lost connection. Love these, though i never really get to play anymore.. i still talk to some of my clan while im doing house work or taking care of my son. A little pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro Gaming Headset $99- Detachable Mic
- Replaceable cord
- Good build quality
- Good sound quality
The two biggest issues most people have with headsets are the mic quits working or the cable get damaged. I think it's worth it to spend more upfront to get a good quality headset, that allows you to replace the mic and cord.

The look of those is pretty good since it doesn't do anything silly like RGB or have bright annoying colors or try to look like it's from a Sci-Fi series.

This is a big one for me. I've broken several sets of headphones over the years due to the cord getting caught on a chair or other damage, so being able to purchase a set with a cord that can be replaced without soldering is really nice.

I broke the mic wire on my Sennheiser PC-350 headset right below the in-line volume controller. The headset was like 5-6 years old. Lucky Sennheiser has out of warranty flat rate "repair" service, they replaced my headset with a brand new Sennheiser Game Zero headset. The Game Zero has a replaceable cable and has awesome sound.

I also love the Game Zeros and recommend them if it's within your budget range. Sennheiser also has the Game One headsets if you prefer an open-back headset.

Forgot to mention, they are very comfortable, dont even feel them after a few minutes. The logitech headset always made my ears hurt after about 30 minutes. The mic is retractable.. they are wireless, so no cord. and pleasing to look at. I guess if the op wants to really get involved in the headset, he should check out reviews for headsets.

Another vote for Sennheiser Game Zero/PC360, etc. I've had PC360s for years now and really like them. Decent mic with flip-up-to-mute, volume on the headset itself, good sound.

This is the headset I was going to recommend also. The earmuffs are VERY comfortable, light, and stay cool (you don't get hot) after long gaming sessions. They also support 7.1 surround when using them with a PC. You can remove the usb plugin and use it with an Xbox One or a PS4 also which is great. They are awesome

I recently bought the SteelSeries Arctis7. Great Headset. Normally $150. But got it for $100 at Amazon. Seems to go on sale fairly frequently. Build quality is great. Very solid and I don't feel like it's going to break if I turn my head to fast like my old Corsair Vengeance one.

The best thing to do for a gaming headset is to buy a nice pair of headphones, something from Sennheiser or Audio-Technica. Then buy a mic that mounts to the side. Better quality all around.
