My 5yr old Logitech g500s (laser sensor) started double clicking at random.

I wanted a gaming mouse with:
Good Sensor
Software that allows me to make custom binds or macros
under 100g

After doing my own research on gaming mice that i liked. I ended up ordering SteelSeries Rival 600. It does have a shorter warranty than i like, only 1yr warranty (US Region, 2yrs for EU Region). SquareTrade offers 4yrs of coverage for only $2 on Amazon, i purchased that for this mouse just in case it messes up after the first year.

I almost went with the ZOWIE EC2-B eSports Mouse - CS:GO Edition, but that mouse doesn't have any software for it.

I just got one a couple weeks ago and I think it's a great mouse.  I'm not wild about the illuminated SteelSeries logo at the heel, but that seems to be the "in" thing.

Does it have the option to disable RGB lights? If not i plan on setting them all to black.

My Logitech G-403 has an illuminated "G" on the heel as well, but I never really see it because my hand is always covering it...

Yes - you can disable the lights.  In fact, you can control each individual zone.  I could turn off the light for the logo, for instance.

True!  I have a work PC in the same area as my home PC.  I'll eventually get used to it - but for now, it's the first thing my eyes drift to when I'm walking towards the desk.

That's nice to know. My Rival 600 should be here tomorrow.

lol Steele Series were just exposed for an incredibly anti male and trashing male gamers with their ridiculously stupid viral marketing campaign bully hunters SJW madness.

I'd return the mouse with a hand written note telling them to pound sand.

So far so good with my new Rival 600 mouse. Got to love new mouse skates. The only thing i do not like is where Button 6 is located on the side of the mouse. It's too far forward for claw grip users. I wish it was like my g500s, the 3rd button was right below the other two buttons on the side.

I completely agree on Button 6.  I loved the placement of the 2 side buttons on my EVGA Torq X10.

The rubber "grip" on both sides will take some getting use to, so far i find them to be slippery instead of adding better grip to the mouse.

I'm already thinking about returning this SteelSeries Rival 600. The silicon side "grips" is not doing it for me at all. It requires more pressure to hold onto the mouse compared to my g500s. It always feel like the mouse is slipping out of my hand. That will a pointless  Button 6 i can't reach due to how i grip the mouse, this mouse is not worth $80 to me.

I might give Logitech g502 a shot, going to visit bestbuy tomorrow and see if they have it on display. If it's within $5 of amazon price, i will picked it up, if i like the feel of it.

Dropped off the Rival 600 at the UPS store, already have a credit on my Amazon account for it. BestBuy did price match Amazon on the G502 for $45.99 , that saved me $5. I came close to getting the g403 but they didn't have any in stock. If i can catch the g403 on sale for under $40 i will pick it up.

I did get the chance to try a few Corsair mice finally. I didn't care for the side grip on the Glaive RGB, the sniper button on the M65 pro was in a bad spot for me. I wanted to test out the HARPOON but they didn't have any on display or any open packages for that mouse.

Good point X, I should have mentioned that. I usually wont deal with third party sellers at newegg, amazon etc... cause of a lot of the protections you lose and the loop holes they get so its not usually a consequence I have to deal with, but that doesn't mean others don't. @Sim, your welcome brotha, Its what these forums are supposed to be all about.

I'm already thinking about modifying the g502 mouse wheel. I ordered a g500 mouse wheel on ebay and new skates. The metal mouse wheel has poor grip to it.

I noticed the same issue with my thumb and the G502. I was going to modify it the mouse wheel on it, but now i'm just going to take it back to bestbuy for a refund. I ended up ordering a G403 from Amazon.

I too wish the 403 had 3 buttons on the side, even if one of them was smaller like the g500s.

I'm testing out the G403 now. I went from Rival 600 to G502, to now the G403 (wired version). The G403 mouse wheel feels better to me over the G502 metal mouse wheel. It's not loose like the G502 wheel and it's not metal that has a poor grip to it. My hand no longer feels cramped holding onto the mouse, my thumb is not forced to rub against textured hard rubber when i want to lift the mouse or have a nice grip on it.

Will see how long i stick with the G403.

My girlfriend uses a steelserries and has liked it and the mouse has held up well to her playing Diablo 3 so I don’t think you have to worry about a problem with clicking.

I don't know what SteelSeries was thinking putting silicon pads on the side of the Rival 600 mouse, it makes gripping the mouse worse in my opinion. If they would of made it have a rubber coating like logitech G403 has, i would probably kept the mouse.

If anyone worried about RGB lighting at night on Logitech mice, don't worry. The software has a sleep timer for the RGB lights.
