Any of you who have inclinations of picking up a GTX 590 from any manufacturer, not just Asus, had better read up before attempting overclocking and especially increasing voltage!

Same thing here

Looks like reports of it are starting to pop up, it's not an isolated incident.

I wonder how it affected performance as the 6990 was on top for a lot of tests.

Cant't wait to see moar reviews

The cards stopped working, that's how it affected performance xD. They were dead, they didn't keep working.

Yep...the techPowerUp guys were fortunate to have another on-hand.
Gotta be oh so careful with this series, apparently.
I'd advise don't touch the voltage or clocks. These things are wound so tight they're primed to break.

Kinda freaky to watch.  However, I couldn't resist to whistle "Pop goes the weseal"  and timing it to the card popping.

Drivers.
The card isn't stopping from burning itself out.

Not surprising when they push a dual GPU card to 1.2v, of course it's gonna blow.

As a first step, I increased the voltage from 0.938 V default to 1.000 V, maximum stable clock was 815 MHz - faster than GTX 580! Moving on, I tried 1.2 V to see how much could be gained here, at default clocks and with NVIDIA's power limiter enabled.

Yeah until they get this corrected, at this price tag I'd treat these cards like you would a date whose father is an inked convict...
