Hello everyone,
Recently picked up a 3080 locally for a new build. Upon setting up, 2 red lights above the PCIe plugs (left to right) popped up and no RGB at all.
The card is running fine, however, with the fans working. I tried a few games and even cinebenched it. Unfortuately the card just ran out of warranty so RMA isn't an option :(
Things I've tried:
  • Reseated the GPU.
  • Switched the PCIe connectors around. (Still same 2 red lights)
    • I'm using 2 separate 8-pin connectors. 1 is plugged in the port closest to the GPU, the other connector has 2 8-pin plugs for the remaining slots. (This can't possibly be the problem right? Even EVGA says it's the right way to plug. No need for all 3 separate connectors
  • Installed latest Precision X1, able to fiddle with the RGB settings but lights still not on.
  • Removed the card completely and let it sit for 6 hours (discharge the capacitors - according to EVGA support)
My spec:
  • 850w Gold+ be Quiet Pure Power
  • i7 12700kf
  • 32GB DDR5
  • MSI z790 Gaming Wifi
Appreciate any advice!

If you can't get it to work properly, since you just bought it that way, return it for a refund.
