With its beefy heatsink, Phison E26 SSD controller and 232-layer 3D NAND, the new SPATIUM M580 FROZR is the fastest MSI SSD to date. This new PCIe 5.0 SSD boasts sequential read speeds of up to 14.6 GB/s, and sequential write speeds of up to 12.7 GB/s, That’s up to two times faster than the fastest PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Starting today, the MSI SPATIUM M580 FROZR will be available with 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacity options. All of these SSDs will feature a DRAM cache buffer and an SLC cache. MSI has confirmed that models of this SSD will also feature a 5-year warranty.

MSI’s huge FROZR SSD features three heatpipes and reportedly reduces SSD operating temperatures by 20 degrees celcius. This allows this new drive to maintain its high performance levels during sustained workloads. With its 14.6 GB/s speeds, this new PCIe 5.0 SSD is one of the fastest M.2 storage devices on the market. This drive approaches the performance limits of the PCIe 5.0 interface on PCIe x4 M.2 slots. This means that users should not expect SSDs that are much faster than this until the introduction of PCIe 6.0.

Personally I think the heatsink is too big

Seems a little over the top. Sure, it has decent performance, but it looks a little gimmicky imho.

It would have been better if they used a fan cooled heatsink solution
