Yeah Tim I agree. Just a shame some people have to cheat to get ahead. It’s just a competition to get people involved in Distributed Computing to advance science. There is no monetary gain so it must be a matter of pride.
Nothing to be proud of cheating your way to the top. Just a sad situation.

Tim (UBT-Timbo) continues to turn a blind eye, and threaten anyone who accuses TSBT of cheating with a ban, but wont ban TSBT for actually cheating. and his response to being made aware of all these facts is "that's up to the SiDock admins and nothing to do with FB" which is just an outrageous response when the cheating happened to directly benefit during the sprint on FB. 

I would urge anyone here that has an account on FB to voice your concerns and opposition to this behavior on the formula BOINC forums (I am unable to because Tim is so paranoid of anyone signing up to speak truths like this that he will not validate any new users on the forums). I would also consider boycotting FB for 2025 and beyond. there are better competitions out there that don't support and harbor cheaters.

I do not turn a blind eye and I do not ban people without reason. So get your facts right for a start. (user Orange Kid was deactivated on the FB forum after trolling. This was his second posting which came after he posted an image BEFORE any information came to light about cheating issues with the SiDock project. And he did not like his image being deleted so, instead of being courteous and acknowledging that it was unacceptable, he raised the stakes by trolling, which is against the FB Forum rules).

Remedial action on the FB website will be taken once Sebastien (FB founder) and I agree on what should take place - until then be assured that I take your opionionated rant very seriously...

As for paranoia ?? No one is barred from signing up on the FB forum - though every sign-up is checked to limit spiderbots and trolls - so where did you get that idea from....maybe you are paranoid ? Possibly delusional ?

you have evidence of exactly who cheated. the project (SiDock) did the work for you and identified the cheaters, yet you banned the person who directly named them. it wasnt without evidence, but your favoritism to TSBT in their multiple instances of cheating is glaringly apparent to everyone except yourself. how long will you delay and make excuses for them? why walk on eggshells in naming the cheaters, TSBT, when you have irrefutable evidence as such. all the while fielding their private lobbying via PM. if nothing substantial is done about the team that has been caught cheating more than once, you will lose any shred of integrity that yourself and FB has left in the BOINC community.

even now. just look at the incomprehensible totals for sprints vs marathons on SiDock. points were removed from TSBT on the Marathon because the project removed their points. yet their points and standing  for the Sprint remain. are you running some Dr. Who Tardis kind of competition where "it's bigger on the inside" where one can have more points in a single sprint than they have Total for the whole year's marathon? Make it make sense.

and yes, I have attempted to sign up on FB on more than one occasion, and the verification email was never sent. either you're not actually reviewing signups, or you think anyone with a gmail account is a "spiderbot"? should be listed under my username. but of course, what's the point in you approving my account when it's clear that any opposition gets silenced? (case in point, Orange Kid) your heavy handed approach to claim impartiality only makes you look more biased than ever.

Like I said (or can't you read?) action will be taken.
And yes, certain email providers are banned as too many spambots try to register.
BUT there's nothing stopping you sending me a PM on a BOINC project website to let me know of your "difficulty" so i can open up the procedure for you to register....but then that would be too difficult for you I suspect? But don't bother now, as clearly you have a vendetta with people who are fair, disciplined and straight forward... 

And re-editing the FB Sprint results is NOT a five second job, nor even a 5 minute job, so take your head out of the bucket and see the real world for once and what is possible, when processes need to be carried out by people who work for a living.

In the case of "deactivating" a members FB forum account, they made a public post BEFORE any cheating was proved when instead they should have sent me a PM  - but they chose to post a graphic image that gave NO DIRECT CLUES as to what they were implying.
The member then took issue that I deleted the image (which I regarded as provoking a flame war). And that's why their account was deactivated as they broke the FB forum rules in their response to this.

and the fact that you'd rather claim virtue in acting before you admittedly knew all the facts is hilarious. cheating was proven, you just weren't aware of it yet. that's a YOU problem. maybe you should have investigated yourself before the knee jerk reaction to take down something you saw as incriminating to TSBT and personal offense.

As I have said before, if you actually take notice of anything, there was NO specific pointers as to what was happening. And in the past, some former FB members had posted spiteful and erroneous posts, caused lots of ructions within the forum with accusations flying backwards and forwards. And with no specific information, it seemed like someone was starting another flame war. So, there was "previous" history, which is why I deleted the image.

I can actually multitask, as I sit here, drinking some rather nice mulled wine, eating a warm mince pie, typing words on a computer and listening to some great sounds while my lady partner is looking very sweet in her French maids outfit, before we head off to a fancy dress party. ;-) You see, some of us have a life !
