Absurd that we don't have a 14th gen bios yet, but @EVGA_RMA_JaysonC is happy to jump in right away and reply to scrubs in the power supplies section of the forum. So does anyone at EVGA have a spinal cord stiff enough to give us a proper clear message regarding 14th gen bios update for supported mobos?

The EVGA staff that post in the forums still have no ETA; all they know is that "people are looking into it". My personal belief is that they also don't know if it will happen. The people that may know whether an update is possible don't post here and have not communicated any plan as of yet to those that do.

So there's no clear message because there's no clear plan. If I had to guess, they've reached out to some people about contracting someone to do a one-off update because we've asked for it and they no longer employ anybody who does that. Whether or not management approves whatever quote they get back (if they get one at all) is anybody's guess. Just to be clear, everything but the first sentence of this post is my conjecture.

My guess is that support stuff got instructions not to comment anything regarding Z690 and Z790 motherboards, since they don't have motherboard department anymore and they cannot provide any software or technical support.

As I said above, I really didn't want to return my Classified MB as it is an awesome design with a high build quality, but I felt I had no choice. There will be no guaranteed updates as needed, which includes tech support as well as Bios updates, it makes the MB not perform @100% all the time. I don't want to get into what's going on to EVGA as a whole, but it's not looking good, which is a shame! As they say silence speaks volumes. I am sure the people remaining at EVGA feel horrible too as it is out of their hands...

Nothing has changed.  Same answer 3 weeks ago.  Words are empty without action.  They don't even have the confidence to come here and provide additional public reassurance.  Are they afraid that it will fall through?  Are they afraid that their contractors will fail or ask for too much money?

At least they used the word "Once" instead of "if."

Guess I'm going with the i9-13900KS for now then.
Let's hope that EVGA gets that update out before the amazon return window of January 31st closes. lol

[quote=ilukeberry] I have Z790 Classified still sealed...EVGA C'MON!

At the local computer show this past weekend, overheard people looking for EVGA Z790 KP MBs and naturally for a real bargain. Now that the word on the street about EVGA’s future and its financial reality being as bleak as our economy and our inflation still running amok. I just tanked-up with my last $20 bill at Beverly Center here in LA and paid $6.70 per gallon. As to the timely BIOS service nobody here really caring nor complaining about the 14th generation update. I will probably put my 7-months old EVGA Z790 MB on the market in the next 30-days and throw-in the OS, CPU, RAM and NVME’s for good measure and for a quick sale. Meanwhile stuffing into the case with what’s leftover from my stashed 4-generations ago hobbled together hardware. I always loved EVGA products and they have never let me down. But in today’s world and EVGA being practically in no mans land, I need a solid 4-5 years on my MB with 100% OEM support and a fully guaranteed extended warranty in place. Indeed I will soon be taking a big $$$ hit, but by still living in Moms basement, having unlimited refrigerator rights, no overhead and frequent homemade Apple pie…life is good. Perhaps 2024 will be even better for me with lots of overtime and Mom sneaking me a few bucks on the side? Now of course the question remains what should I buy the next time around?
