In terms of comparison: The only difference is clock speed. The Core i9-14900K can boost to 6GHz out of the box, while the Core i9-13900K tops out at 5.8GHz. In addition, the Core i9-14900K comes with a 200MHz boost to both the base and boost clock speeds of the performance cores and efficiency cores.

Unless there are other differences, the Z790 Dark / Z790 Classified is still a very good MB for 13900K or KF or KS variant.

Given that LGA1700 is the last for 13th/14th Gen CPUs , LGA 1851 is an upcoming socket for Arrow Lake-S desktop processors and Lunar Lake-S desktop processors, and EVGA might not make another motherboard, might as well use it for the 13th Gen.

Thoughts?

So I currently am running the 14900k on the Classified. It's a great chip if you can cool it and it works quite well, with a few caveats.

1. Some major stutters when trying to run very intensive games. Possibly a BIOS issue relating to Intel Thread Director stuff?
2. Semi-consistent disconnect of external USB peripherals. Kinda annoying but usually resolves itself soon after.
3. Adaptive voltages are messed up. Def a BIOS/Microcode issue.

I think that there are three pages of people saying that they don't care if the 14th gen Intel isn't a worthwhile upgrade from 13th gen in anyone's opinion, they just want what EVGA promised, while others bought the board and the chip and don't have a 13th gen chip to fall back on.

I think that EVGA will not make another motherboard, and EVGA should provide the support that they committed to providing, for the sake of the misled buyers.  I think EVGA management is too proud to admit how much the company has declined.

Guys this will be killer BIOS release, since they are really putting hours into it and testing it! That is why is taking so long.

I remember when I used to be able to PM EVGA' Lee M a question about motherboard BIOS, features, or if something was being worked on...and I would get a reply and/or he'd come in here and help people or at least provide an update. Same goes for sending Jacob a message. Ah, the good old days.

Yeah Lee was always very helpful to me too. Above and beyond, consistently.

I had been away from this Forum too long and when I saw the price drop on Amazon I purchased a Z790 Classified. I was waiting for a new case too, so the board sat sealed. By the time I came here looknig for a new Bios upgrade I was outside the Amazon return window.
I am going to try and ask but I doubt Amazon will budge. I love always loved Evga for the service, updates etc. but those days are over... Here's hoping I can return it, if not I will use it and just get something to work,
not like I will have any choice now will I...

Z790 Aorus Master X
Z790 Nova

I got Lucky!! Amazon refunded me 100% for my Classified even though I was about a week out of my return window given it was sealed in a box and never touched. For the money, while it might not be the best there is, the Asrock Z790 Nova is looking like a super feature packed Motherboard for UNDER $300. I have seen ZERO signs of life in EVGA and spending a LOT less now lets me save for other things! I hope everyone is wrong about about EVGA but it's NOT looking good for the home team...

I was looking at that one too. Until I realized it does not have dual bios or bios flashback.
Make sure you're willing to accept that.
So strange because the board has such great features.

TBH even the Classified is a better board but with no Bios in the foreseeable future and maybe even ZERO warranty support I decided to return and chose another.
It really is hard choosing another board...
