I watched the video on GamersNexus's second channel from Computex with Vince and 2 members of the EVGA BIOS team, and it was stated they are leaving the company soon.  My concern is that this means that the z790 and z690 boards will not get any further BIOS updates, specifically for when Intel 14th Gen, the Raptor Lake refresh comes out this fall.  I got the z790 at the start of June when the price dropped on Newegg, as I wanted to get out of the ASUS ecosystem.  I am thrilled with the performance of the board and did make the purchase with the understanding that it could very well be the last motherboard EVGA releases, however I was also hoping to be able to upgrade to 14th Gen since its using the same socket and z790 chipset but with these team members leaving I am now concerned that there will not be further updates.

This question is for anyone on the EVGA team that still monitors the forum, is it possible for you to clarify if EVGA intends to provide a BIOS update this fall to support 14th Gen?

I hope so, as I am sure there are many with a z690 and z790 that would love to extend the service life of their system for as long as possible.

Yup, i'm pretty sure all Z690 and Z790 owners would appreciate some clarification on this matter.

I also watched the Gamers Nexus video (today) on the exiting BIOS team members.  GN has been my sole source of any information about EVGA as a company.  GN also (rightfully) avoids saying what some EVGA customers fear has already happened.

I purchased the Z790 (Classified) fully knowing that it could be a risk with regard to future support.  I also didn't expect EVGA to continue making motherboards given their GPU decision and other GN reports on changes at EVGA.  Having been a loyal customer of EVGA products for many years, I also decided to buy what likely would be the last EVGA mobo (and now BIOS update) that I will get from them.

I do wish EVGA would "open the kimono", and talk frankly to their (existing) customers.  Our support expectations need some level of guidance.  A mobo BIOS and warranty support statement (good or bad news) is better than not saying anything to the customer.  My feeling (based upon the absence of communication from EVGA) is that we are simply waiting for the "funeral notice" from "some" source.

If you wait long enough, the lack of a response is a response. When companies have no response, it means that their response is negative, no, or not what people want to hear.

I don't think we have waited long enough to assume this response, but I think the response is going to be negative.

If you want to hurry up the process, try asking EVGA directly.

I don't think "hurry up" or "contact us" are words that apply in this situation.  With a major loss of significant people and departments, and no significant products "in stock", a stethoscope might be a more appropriate.    I think we are already there, the end has come and there isn't anyone to "contact".  Rest in peace EVGA and my hat is still off to all the employees that made it great for so many years.  Lots of great and helpful Forum Members have also made EVGA shine...many thanks to all of them too.

Still do not get it how a company owner/CEO lets his (former) employees and loyal customers down like this.

why not let employees take over or sell the brand/company ?

sick of business and ready for retirement, then just leave it to others.

Yeah, I don't know much about the CEO other than the segment that "Steve Burke" from Gamers Nexus did with him last year.  The thing that stuck with me from Steve's conversation with the CEO was that he had done this for a long time and wanted to spend time with his family.  That may be the only thing that is happening here.  Since that conversation with GN, the CEO's actions with the company appear to align with shutting down (at his own pace) and getting out.  Such is life...

Dang, maybe I should have gone with an Asus Apex instead? I wonder if I can still sell my Dark Kingpin to make some cash back for the Apex purchase.

You probably can to some evga mobo enthusiasts or collectors. I would highly recommend the APEX if you plan to DDR5 OC

think this Z790 Bios is somewhat more mature than Z690 Dark Bios few monthes after release.
RPL refresh will be just another rehash of the same architecture with slightly higher clock rates.
i even sold my 13900KS again and stick with 13900K, it is not that much of a difference either.

sure another Bios update would be nice for better memory OC especially, so maybe we need to gofundme the engineers to create a new Bios Version even after they quit EVGA. ;-)
