CHE VERGOGNA, VEDERE CHE SU Z790 KINGPIN, evga SI E' ARRENATA, E NULLA DI NUOVO TRAPELA, MI FA PENTIRE MOLTO DI AVER SPESO I MIEI SOLDI PER UNA SCHEDA MADRE GIA' DEFUNTA.

Apologies for my poor Google translate.  Never learned Italian.  That said, even if we never get another bios update, the board is still a great z790 board (if not the best).  At the end of the day, BIOS updates are one of those things where "if it's not broke, don't fix it."  Completely get that most of us bought the K|ngp|n board to push the envelope and constantly mess with it, but for day to day use it's still a great board that can handle most of the RAM thrown at it.  Just don't beat yourself up about it.  :-)

Are you joking?
a Z790 board MUST be compatible with gen14, there will not be a z890

and this is a 1k€ z790 board, this is just UNACCEPTABLE.

I know that a lot of fanboy here would forgive anything to evga, but not this please.

ps:
not to mention the rest of the SW/FW/Drivers support that never was.
it's just a shame.

It likely won't be compatible because EVGA is folding. It's not like every other manufacturer.

and so what?
1. it's not official
2. the are still selling stuff
3. they just launched a PSU
4. maybe they will not make any new product, but they MUST provide support for products that they are still selling or not EOS.

they where perfectly operational to TOOK OUR MONEY.

It may not be official, but they're not selling much of anything on their site anymore. There's no Motherboards or PSUs in stock. While they may not be saying so publicly, my guess is they're shutting down. Either way, I wouldn't count on a bios update to support 14th gen on Z690/Z790 EVGA boards. I hope I'm wrong of course.

Not defending them here, but even before they started closing down business units and walking staff out the door, it was not uncommon for EVGA to release the BIOS for a new CPU that works on that motherboard on the day of launch.

For example: I have a 13900k on a z690 motherboard. That CPU was not announced when the z690 was launched, so it's the same situation as 14th gen on z790 now. The official bios supporting 13900k was released on October 20th, which was launch day. So it wouldn't be unlike them to not release anything ahead of launch. It also wouldn't surprise me given current circumstances if they fail to launch any more updates given the state they're in.

Hope you're right. I'd love to have 14th gen support. Considering their BIOS team already left (at least the key players), it wouldn't surprise me if they're done with BIOS updates as a company.

They are not selling in the store on this site anymore, it was stated by an EVGA rep in another thread that they have moved away from direct sales and are only selling through retail partner channels now, which is totally reasonable.

I also have this MOBO and will ride it into the ground so I’m hoping the statement from I believe EVGA Tech Alex that they were working on a compatibility update is still true as I’d love a 14900k or KS to run with for the next 4-5 years.

pps: just for the records: ANY other Z790 (and B760 etc) board from ANY other brand it's already compatible with gen14 from months, even 100$ boards.
if i was not clear: IT'S A SHAME.

The drivers & FW can be updated via other avenues.  Never depended on EVGA for those anyway (on this board, or previous ones).

As far as 14th gen, you're right that there's a risk there; however, it's not out yet.  Whining about it now when EVGA has already communicated that there will be an update to support 14th gen seems pretty pointless.  EVGA has always released their updated CPU support late comparative to other OEMs.  Now, if they don't deliver after communicating that they would, that's a different story.

I was able to get my Z790 Dark from NewEgg during a short restock period. Literally 4 hours after I placed my order, they were out of stock again. I tried to get the link to a friend but no luck. I think they are getting stock, just in small quantities, and randomly.
