Been a while since I've done any updates to this, but I just installed and ran some tests on some new memory. I previously tried to get some 7200MT/s memory working (knowing it was a risk) and it did not work lol. Couldn't even get 6400 out of it.
Well, fast-forward to recently and I was hitting about 95% utilized of my 32GB kit while trying to run an Ark Survival Ascended server and playing on the same machine. So I didn't go for faster, but double the capacity. Picked up a 64GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 6000-CL30 kit (
F5-6000J3040G32GX2-RM5RK). They even list the z690 Classy on their QVL so it seemed worth the risk. I ran memtest86 and it passed. ran through a gammit of benchmarks today and all is well. So I've got new memory, same speed, but tighter cas latency. Looks nice too:
