Hey guys, so just a quick question. I have downloaded the driver I need to update my GPU to run as the hybrid model card. My question is, within the zip that I downloaded, the only file is a .exe, titled "Update". Is this all I need? Do I just run the .exe and let it do it's thing? I've been searching the internet for an answer but haven't really had any luck finding one. Thanks in advance!

https://forums.evga.com/E...S-Thread-m3407542.aspx has a list of instructions for what to do with the zip file and the update file.

Man I am a bozo, totally looked right past that. Got the Bios file from the same page and everything. Now when they say no programs, how strict is that. Because even at the bare minimum I still have things like Nvidia Control Panel running in the background. Or is it just a safe bet to absolutely close everything? I already plan to do that, I'm merely just curious

Anything that could interfere with the VBIOS flash. To my understanding, that usually (but not always) means anti-virus. I've never had an issue with the stock windows defender gumming things up, yet I've heard of third party AV interfering. I could see a program trying to use the GPU (3D software or game) also interfering.

Makes total sense. Sorry to be a pain, but one last question (hopefully). ReBar, I know I can check in the Nvidia Control Panel if it's currently enabled or not, but unfortunately, I'm currently at work. My question is, should I get the bios option that has rebar, or no? Any issues if I don't? Or benefits to getting the version with?

REBAR has been shown to have some small (1 to 3%) FPS gains for some games. If you have a CPU (10th gen Intel or newer, Ryzen 3000 (non-g) or newer) and motherboard (updated BIOS) that support it you might as well - just don't forget to follow those instructions at the top of https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-GeForce-30-Series-HYBRIDXOCDefault-BIOS-Thread-m3407542.aspx

In the future I can see it becoming more important, but right now it's just a nice to have for a bit of extra performance.

EDIT: some games actually benefit a good bit at higher resolutions, so I actually benefit almost 10% at 4K with my 3090 Ti in AC: Valhalla - https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/pcie_resizable_bar_performance_amd_and_nvidia_benchmarks,5.html

EDIT2: Here's one with an Intel CPU for comparison (sadly with an AMD GPU): https://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cpu_mainboard/resizable_bar_tested_with_intel_-_the_power_of_boosted_memory_access/3

Cool, I appreciate the input! Now I just have some decision making to do. I may even just undervolt the card a little to bring my temps down. I'm also reading across from places that not everybody who did the hybrid upgrade even updated their bios. A lot just left it as it was, so I have some things to consider. Again, I appreciate it!
