I'm running a 12900k as well, and have been experiencing crashes in Control the past 2 or so days. I don't have any evga components, but I stumbled across this from google so I thought I'd pipe in that it could likely be the game or something other than your hardware. For instance, I'm running a gigabyte 3080 ti vision, msi meg unify z690-i mobo, corsair vengeance ddr5 5600 32gb, and some firecude ssd's.

Based on the discussion above I doubt this is due to my hardware either; everything else seems fine. Haven't really played Control prior to the past couple days, so I can't tell if it's something that's always been there or not. Here's from my event viewer:

"Faulting application name: Control_DX12.exe, version: 0.0.344.1873, time stamp: 0x5f6469a7

I may try dx11 and some other things; if I find out I'll post a reply here as an FYI if that helps. But yeah, prob a game issue

Hi. I resolved crashing almost lol. I started new game and it crashed once of 5 hours of play. Now its playable and ok. Just after starting new game all stabilize. Had only 2 xrashes of 5 hours of play , still testing and no more crashes. I think its the game now for sure.
