I'm running a 12900k as well, and have been experiencing crashes in Control the past 2 or so days. I don't have any evga components, but I stumbled across this from google so I thought I'd pipe in that it could likely be the game or something other than your hardware. For instance, I'm running a gigabyte 3080 ti vision, msi meg unify z690-i mobo, corsair vengeance ddr5 5600 32gb, and some firecude ssd's.
Based on the discussion above I doubt this is due to my hardware either; everything else seems fine. Haven't really played Control prior to the past couple days, so I can't tell if it's something that's always been there or not. Here's from my event viewer:

I may try dx11 and some other things; if I find out I'll post a reply here as an FYI if that helps. But yeah, prob a game issue
