Is the complimentary 12 pin adapter compatible with psu/pcie cables from other psu brands like corsair, or can I only use an EVGA psu with the 12 pin adapter for my 3090ti?

Which adapter in particular? If it is the PerFE adapter cable (this one: EVGA - Products - EVGA PerFE 12 Cable, Individually Sleeved Cable, EVGA PSU REQUIRED, Built for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Founders Edition and EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Series (With 1000W PSU), Included Cable Combs - 100-NK-3000-B9)
 
It will ONLY work on EVGA PSU's.
 
If it is the one in the box it will work with all PSU's.

Should essentially be a PCIE extender that converts to 12pin.  It should be keyed to the standardized ends the go directly into the GPU, not the proprietary parts that plug directly into the PSU.  Also, on the triple 8pin side, it should be an "innie" not an "outtie."  :-)

Edit:  What Jacob said.  I assumed "complimentary" meant was in the 3090TI's box.

Was the cable inside the graphics card box? If so yes that is for any PSU.

Not the 2 8 pin to 12 pin PerFE cable that can be bundled free with the FTW3 Ultra, but the short 3 8 pin to 12 pin adapter that comes in the box with the card, right? The one that can be bundled only works with EVGA PSUs, the short adapter works with any PSU.

The adapter thats included w the GPU should work on most psu's.....as in "universal". I see on the Corsair site they now have a PCI-E 12 pin power cable available for purchase....works on most Corsair psu's as well....only its a 2 PCI-E plug (from psu) to the 12 pin plug (not 3 plug to 12 pin).

I'm considering getting the EVGA PerFE 12 for my 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra since it would plug directly into my EVGA PSA and avoid using the 8 pin PSU VGA power cables. The one supplied with the 3090Ti needs to connect to three 8 pin cables but I noticed that the PerFE 12 cable utilizes only two 8 pin plugs. 
 
 
Just want to make sure that the PerFE 12 would be a good choice versus the one that came with the card. I'm concerned about power flow to the 3090 Ti.
 
 

Either one is fine, but I like using the supplied adapter due to being able to connect three 8-pins.
