What about the 3080Ti's (mine was manufactured March 2021)......theres more to it than what Evga is letting on...as in not isolated to some earlier 3090's thats for sure.....video cards shouldnt go "pop / poof" and dead at the rate these are....too bad...oh well, hopefully get enough life out of the RMA card until next gen...

What’s going on with the 3080 Ti? I’ve got three and haven’t had any issues. One is an absolutely terrible overclocker, but that’s about the extent of it.

Today I woke up to my 3090 Ftw3 hybrid going dark during games. It's been almost a year since my last RMA. This will be the 5th replacement since I got my original card on December 2020. PC boots up fine but any kind of load on the gpu causes for signal to be lost and fans to ramp up. I also notice that when this happens my GPU core load drops to 0. I have a system monitor and this is the only component that drops as soon as the black screen starts. Sound remains on for a moment then it dies off as well. Already started an Advanced RMA and hope there are no issues with the replacement card. BTW this card is a rev 1.0 card. The 3 before this one were rev 0.1 all with black screen and fan ramping up issues.

Consider yourself lucky....mine lasted 3 months...barely...same "pop n poof (blown power delivery fuse) followed by fixed red light over PCI-E power plug" same as the 3090's...and 3080's....

I just got my Z690 put together today on my bench...will move everything over to my 900D and loop once all testing is complete, including my replacement refurb card from Evga.

I just received my 3070Ti after being in the queue since it came out. I was thinking of stepping up to the 3080 or 3080Ti within my 90 days and just wait it out. I understand that were some initial issues with the 3080s but I would LIKE to think that most issues would have been addressed by now. Being the cautious sort, I tend to always buy the extended warranty when offered. It is a small price to pay when you tend to keep things long term like I do. I am JUST at my 3rd year on my 2080Ti and hopefully I will never have to use it. I have had to use Advance RMA before for MBs and PSUs and it as so been worth it.

As I read through this thread, it makes me really wonder what to do, BUT I do have just under 3 months to think about what to do and if there is a true issue I would like to think it has been addressed in the newer manufactured cards. Besides even if I stepped up it would be a year before I saw the step up card!

Being only a civil engineer I have no technical analytics skin in the game, but reading everything above really makes me wonder. NOT like it would happen soon even if I did step up, 4000 Series cards will probably be out and I would be in yet another queue if I wanted one! There does seem to be enough issues that EVGA should at least look into it, unless they feel just giving out RMAs is good enough...

I wouldnt sweat it too much...there are also plenty with perfectly fine Cards....who knows why some "emit solid red" and some dont...or some pop n poof...get your Card and go with it...while it was running for the 3 months it was really amazing performance-wise...

I echo anothers sentiment as I've been in queue 1 year and 3 months, so the problem I have is getting my chance to purchase one.

Not to mention when they changed policy and limited queues to the two oldest notifies it dropped my top choice card. I'd have liked to have chosen which notify / queue to keep and stay in but disappointments all around I suppose.

Visiting the site to check on stock today seeing an adverts for yet another new card (3050) is honestly a bit bewildering. I wish the market could catch up with demand of current products before launching new ones but I'm not in retail so...

I get it... covid... supply chain... and yada yada but man, this is the worst.

EVGA is easily my favorite graphics card company. Having been the last 4 cards I've owned, I really can't see going any where else. I have every other part for my new build... ah well.

Story of a good amount of the people here I suppose.

Cheers,

AFAIK the 3080 is not currently available in the step-up program. Might change within 90 days though but sadly the only option up is the 3080ti or the 3090 at this point.

I have a 3070ti ftw3 and was going to use my step up for the 3080ftw ultra , waited
with 8 days left on my step up. Went to use step up for that 3080ftw3 ultra, but evga
just removed it from the available step ups. I posted in a thread here on evga and got
a reply from evga , basiclly saying ' sorry , you'll have to step up to 3080ti instead.'

So, I feel I got ripped off by evga , not letting me step up to the 3080ftw3 ultra, since
they were still available on the European step up queue ... and still are !

So, KimbaLion, and others , don't wait like I did if you want a step up , do it as soon as
possible.
