I’ve been getting high temps with the EK vector 3080/3090 waterblock on a 3080ti FTW3. GPU hot spot read up to 107c on HWInfo, while core temp was maybe 30c less. The system has also been experiencing black screen crashes, under load and not under load (not sure if related). I’m wondering if this waterblock is the first version that doesn’t have the updated standoffs.

Also, are the oily looking spots on the back of the card where the thermal pads make contact normal?

How long has it been mounted to the card?  If it has been half a year or longer, it probably just needs a re-paste due to the previous thermal paste pumping out -- a normal and unavoidable process.  The thinner the paste, the better it performs (usually) and easier it is to work with, but the faster it "wears out" as the thermal paste pumps out and voids occur.

Yes.
