Addresses a couple bugs that may occur while overclocking.

BIOS 1.05 (E599 DARK) / BIOS 1.07 (E597 FTW)

  • Fixes issue where hang occurs during POST at code 0xF0 when VSA voltage set to over 1.6V.
  • Fixes issue where Ring ratio cannot be adjusted when using CPU per-core mode.

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
         121-RL-E599-KR - EVGA Z590 DARK - v1.05
         121-RL-E597-KR - EVGA Z590 FTW - v1.07
  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Close all open programs.
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
  • Press Y to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
  • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation
  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update.  Thanks!

the per core frequency is still bugged in the bios without ht.

Is there an Option in bios z590 Dark, for Vmax Stress Throttling for a 10900kf. My cpu keeps down throttling to 5.1 ghz if cpu ratio is set at 52 with 1.35v set in bios.

does it throttle with an avx offset? like put avx offset 1 and go 53. cause 11900k has that problem(its an intel thing) where if u run anything higher than 5.3 (avx workload) it will throttle back to 5.3. unless u put an avx offset. 10900k doesnt do it on z490 boards cause i tested them. but i havnt ran 10900k on the z590 dark.

Yea it throttles with avx offsets 0, 1, 2, and 3. I was using cinebench r15 because I was just quickly seeing what the cpu was capable of since i just got it. Haven't even tried an avx workload yet. I wasn't sure what was causing it till i checked hwinfo and that was vmax stress.
Also tried different bios versions. But when I use eleet x1 1.0.6, it ALWAYS does vmax stress throttling. But if oc only done with bios, it sometimes vmax stress throttles. I found a utility that you can disable it, throttlestop, but I didn't want to have to use a program everytime boot.

Ive also not gotten the cpu to do 5.3 all core in cine r15 yet, without going over 1.4v, not sure of daily safe maximum for these cpu's. Also LLC at -50% 1.4v, idle droop is down to 1.38 to 1.388, then on load with r15 it droops down to 1.30 to 1.35 and fluctuates a bit. Seems quite a bit too much droop for the setting. LLC at default, -25%, and -50% all behave the same, with the default and -25% both drooping 60mv.

my z390 dark with 8700k/9900k doesn't droop that much at default and -25%.

-50% shouldnt droop that much. https://imgur.com/a/yGgl2bQ   (-25%) 1.43 VBIOS SET
mmm something might be scuffed with 10th gen on z590 dark. 11th gen seems fine so far. other than per core oc not working in bios without ht.
also z490 dark has this issue as well. where i cant go above 5.3(ht off) 5.2cache on 10900k(sp 110), apex easily went to 5.6/5.4. but there is no point going that high freq cause 10 th gen breaks. cml arch is flawed really bad. https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?123415-Maximus-13-and-Rocket-Lake-The-Rules-have-Changed . u can read this. i have used 10th gen and 11th gen and i will never go back to 10th gen. z590 dark on 11th gen has no prob running high freq(no throttling or anything). so its a bios thing i think.

Thanks, Maybe should have looked into 10th gen before buying the 10900kf. That and the chip quality isn't good.
Crazy that out of all my cpu's only one (8700k) was very good, the rest were bottom of the barrel. Not good luck with gpu's either.

EVGA can you please add an option in the smart fan in bios to use GPU temperature?
I have that option in my asus z390 bios, and really miss it on the Dark boards.
