Hey Guys,

I Just got new world and every now and again I black screen and fans ramp up to 100%. I was wondering if I can check if I have revision .1 or 1.0 (I got the card 11/10/2020). I have already submitted and RMA and I am hoping for a 1.0 because I heard those are a lot more stable. I would love to check mine and the RMA card. Please let me know how that is possible.

System Spec
Core I9-10900k
Asus Rog Maximus xii Extreme mobo
Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x32gb 4000 mhz ram
Samsung m.2 drive
Power supply: CORSAIR AXi Series, AX1200i, 1200 Watt, 80+ Platinum Certified, Fully Modular - Digital Power Supply

Temps are perfectly fine under load: GPU-Z numbers below
GPU Temp 73.8 Max
Hot spot 84.3 Max
and Mem Temp 84.0 Max

I tried raising power limit and temp limit to 107% and 91.0 C respectfully in msi afterburner and haven't had a crash quite yet.

Best,
Trilesnik

Quick Edit: I RMA'ed my first card back in the beginning due to black screen and this is my second one... Would suck to have a 3rd one but I am hoping for a 1.0 revision

Physically looking at it is the only reliable way of knowing.

Like a moth to a flame I guess.

Why is it so important to play New World right now that you're willing to risk a $2000 card that anyone would be lucky to only pay $2000 dollars for?

Why not, I don't know, just wait until there is a final resolution and EVGA either recalls their rev 0.1 cards or provides a VBIOS update the prevents the issue?

Why am I reading "Hey I'm playing this game this is known to kill my equipment... I've been having the exact same symptoms people report before their card dies... do you guys think I have a revision that is definitely going to die the next time I play this irresistible game, or do you think it's only like 60% that it might kill my card?"

You can pull your card and look near the PCIe connector if it is rev 0.1 or 1.0. If you have 0.1 then sure, contact EVGA, let them know you've had issues and want a rev 1.0 card.

My advice, it's simple, wait like a few days before playing what is apparently the very best game that has ever been made and MUST be played NOW NOW NOW. A solution could be coming very soon.

I appreciate it. I took a look at im at revision .1

Do you think I need to tell EVGA that I want a 1.0 revision card or do you think they are all revision 1.0 at this point?

I've read that recent RMA's have been the 0.1 cards, but that was before the latest debacle.  I would hope they're vetting cards and sending out 1.0's, but even then, I don't think that's a guarantee that the card won't fail.

Wow, that would be really poor to get a .1 when we know the 1.0's are stable (at least more stable). Is there a way I can request that from EVGA directly? Ive been a long time buyer.

Yeah, it's called talking to EVGA support. You haven't tried that yet? Figured you'd just keep playing New World to see what happens?

CALL EVGA SUPPORT!

Of course, after you actually know, by looking at your card, what revision you currently have.

What does a person have to do to get through to you?

They don't. The issue has not been seen on RTX 3080 Ti, which probably means that FTW3 Ultra RTX 3080 Ti rev 0.1 is the same or better than FTW3 Ultra RTX 3090 rev 1.0.

Don't get hung up on rev # alone. The EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 Ti came out well after the FTW3 Ultra 3090 rev 1.0 came out. They knew what the issue with rev 0.1 FTW3 Ultra RTX 3090s was well before that product launched.

For anyone else checking, I called EVGA and they said there is no guarantee it will be a 1.0 revision board. This worries me... Oh well, lets see what happens.
