hi everyone,

so im a happy/unhappy  new owner of 3090 kingpin. After fiddling with my gpu I can't get past +50 on the core and +350 on the memory on regular games ( like AC:Valhala ) with ln2 bios without crushing,  once I go up beyond it I get unstable and game gonna crush. The clocks  are average around 2050-2090 mhz. In Port Royal i can get like + 100 core and +1000 memory. Am i doing something wrong or i just got very bad sample? ( Voltage +100% )

My setup:
9900ks 5.1ghz 1.3v
aorus z390 xtreme
corsair vengeance rgb pro 3466mhz
corsair hx 1000i

If i making something wrong, please tell me how to overclock this monster properly because i feeling woeful right now :(

I believe Kingpin silica is all been binned so not the chip i believe. Good luck and I'm envious because I've been waiting 3 months now for a Kingpin.

What is your score on Port Royal with overclock in LN2?

I find that there are many games that don't run stable with overclock - ie cyberpunk/ortnite/pubg/cod warfare. The kingpin already has a high boost clock so anymore over clocking will cause game instability. Not all games but quite alot.

Isn't the Kingpin overclocked pretty hard "out of the box"? What clock speed are trying to add 50mhz to?

ln2 bios have 1920 mhz core

You need to push your power slider in msi afterburner or precision xc1, which ever one you are using to 121%. Don't leave it on 100% if your in LN2 and want to get the best overclocking results for benchmark purposes

KP is a Card designed for LN2 Cooling....at the very least a Custom Open WC Loop.....anything less will be restricted to cooling and unfortunately that "Hybrid Cooler" wont get you perhaps what you were hoping for.
This always comes up with every generation of KP Cards.

Unfortunately the marketing is perfect.....whereby those that have a KP Card figure that "at stock" its going to be incredible, compared to any other Card.
Even a Vanilla Card under full water cooling can out perform a KP Card under stock cooling (with a little silicon lottery luck) ;)

This is a common misconception though.  I've seen the voltage/frequency curve for the KP bios.  It appeared to be 45-60 mhz higher than the base curve that reference type cards have (like my Zotac 3090).  The advertised 1920mhz boost clock is a combination of the increased VF curve and the increased power limit.  Most of it coming from the increased power limit.

So yes, the amount you can add to the core offset may be lower due to this, but not nearly as much as you would think based on the advertised 1920mhz boost (i.e. reference 1695 mhz vs KP 1920 mhz).

That said, a maximum core offset of +50 is probably "lowish", but not terrible.  I've found if I want 100% stability with my Zotac 3090, I can't run much more than +120 and it's in a custom loop with core temps in the 45-50C range depending on the level of power I'm running and ambient temp.
