But doesn't it void warranty if you replace the thermal pad and paste yourself? (unless you are Tech Jesus ofc)

They probably have them above the memory/gpu silicon because they're mining. When mining theyre not drawing as much power so It's my understanding maybe that theyre more worried about bringing their memory temps down.

Hey guys,

I want to sell my FT3 3090 and need to rebuild it to the original Cooler. What Pads would I need to buy to make it "stock" again?!
Seems like a real hassle to do this...

Thanks
Bastian

Very interesting feedback.
But you use a heatsink on the backplate ?
So your temperature cannot be compared....
So i used Grizzly Extreme, and i have 108/110 during mining (the room is at 26°C)

I contacted EVGA, to get a replacement pad, because i don't know what can i do ??

I didn't find AIYUNNI  in Europe.

I replaced all of them by gelid, and i come back to 110

Glid extreme is a thermal paste, and will not work for the mosfets and vram (because it won't fill in the gasp). You need to get the thermal putty.

The GPU die will work perfectly fine with glid.

Ok thanks
i need to find it.

Do you have a picture ? I want to be sure i don't want to do a misstake.

That is a terrifying sight for me, to see the card opened up and exposed...I would be way too nervous that I would screw something up. Kudos to you guys with the skills to handle it!

This has been posted on another message, so this is repeat:

For EVGA 3090 FTW:
Do not use thermal pads, they do not perform as well as the stock thermal putty that EVGA uses. I tried various thermal pads (over $100 worth) and I could not get better memory junction temperatures then stock. You must use thermal putty.

This is what I used TG-PP10-50 (if you are American, use digikey.com web site to buy. I used digikey.ca to buy):

It's expensive, but it works way better then thermal pads. You will need lots, it took 20g just to do the backplate. If you're redoing the entire card order 50g (maybe even 100g).

For the GPU use a good thermal paste, like noctula.

Edit:
for some reason I can't post a URL link to digikey. I will post picture.

I tested CK5 Pro in thermal putty

and Gelid extreme

Like that on VRM :
Not better....
