14906 is the highest I can get at ambient. This is with some tweaking in the classified tool. Power limit and heat are a problem, very close to cracking 15k but keep getting crashes at the end of the test when my temps exceed 55C. Without classified tool I got 14832.

I'll need to get the portable ac unit out or wait for a cold night to crack 15k.

What’s the advantage of afterburner vs precision x1?

You guys are all requesting XOC BIOS and voiding your warranties? Is it really worth it?

I understand the watt per performance ratio is pretty bad after about 550 watts, especially due to all the extra heat. I live in NE, I was thinking about dangling the AIO out my window and letting it suck in 20 degree air to try it out lol.

For the rest of the time, I hope my KP will run the full 520w on ambient and get 15k+ PR scores with a modest overclock. Never messed with any GPU overclocking past using settings on PX1/MSI AB. Never messed with the settings you have all mentioned or used classified tool. Might be needing some help tomorrow when the KP shows up!

Also, can someone explain a little more about the curves for voltage and clocks, and how some of you were "tricking" the card so it wouldn't throttle as much as I saw on some other threads?

Is the goal to undervolt enough so it will still run stable and not crash, and by undervolting, you produce less heat so it is also less likely to crash? Basically a balancing act. You can undervolt by adjusting the voltages themselves in the classified tool? But you leave the power limit up so the card can still draw the power it needs at higher clocks, right?

None that I know of beyond the fact that I was able to get higher scores with this KP card using MSI Afterburner. Once I get the XOC Bios I’ll switch back to X1 and the classified tool so I can get more detailed and push it farther. The biggest factor is temps. Regardless of power, temps will limit performance way more than anything else.

Can you guys link the XOC VBios and the Classified tool?

To get the xoc vbios you must send Vince an e-mail with your full name and the serial number of your card.

14725 with the classified settings most people are using and sliders to the right.  All runs on ln2 bios.  About 1370 mem is my sweet spot as far as I can tell for now.

I'm having so many issues run to run, so many odd quirks and bugs.  The worst one is high clocks + low power.  Core clock will read 2175 but then i realize the card is only pulling 380W for the run.  Only a reboot fixes that one.

Right now I'm fighting my card being all over the place with clocks.  In the same run it will sit at 1950 for far too long and pulling 530 watts, and then out of nowhere it will attempt 2200+ and crash.  My best runs, it will cap out at around 2160 (where I would like to keep it), but still run too low for a low average.  Starting temps are around 20C and ending around 47C.  My 3080 never had this much "play" in its clock frequencies.

I've tried flattening the curve in MSI, but it doesn't appear to be following what I set.  I think there's definitely some weirdness between driver/classified tool/MSI/Precision, and I'm going to clean it all out when I have a chance and try again.

My previous best was around 14,500 and that was when it was only pulling 480watts and all I did was "sliders to the right".  Frustrated to do so much tweaking and to only gain 250 points.

P.S. My mem2 sensor is usually about 2C warmer than the others non GPU sensors, and takes forever to cool down after a run.  Anyone else notice the same?

I would go back to scratch. Try Basic settings and see where you get from there. Only change one thing at a time and once you reach its max go to the next, such as trying your clock first find it‘s max then start trying memory until you find it’s max. The memory heats up a ton and I have a huge fan pointed at it on high, its the only way to cool it down. Take 5-10 minutes between runs and make sure the memory is in the mid to low 20’s also. IF you use the classified tool Loney use it to take the ”safety“ of so you don’t keep hitting the power max. It also sounds like you have another program running in the background that may be sucking power, hence why rebooting fixes it. Kill all programs except X1 and try from there.

Finally broke 15k tonight. Custom curve that started with 140 offset and was raised to 155-165 at voltages above 1050mV. LN2 bios.
NVVDD 1.15

OCP off
Room temp about 65F, case open with a fan blowing into it.
