It's normal. Why? Because protections are bulit into the three normal vbios that the card ships with. You want no pwr throttle you run xoc 1000w vbios. :)

I was hoping you'd chime in, cheers. So the solution is to void my warranty? That's not exactly the answer I was hoping for.

Lol. Guess you'll be sticking to the LN2 vbios then. ;)

Note: The 1000w xoc vbios has been made public, so evga wouldn't know if you ever loaded it to the card as long as you flash it back before sending it in. Yep, that is right you don't have to give them your serial number and full name any longer to get it.

I don't really want to risk it, don't think my card is a lottery winner anyway based on my core clocks.

How many points you think I'm losing on this old x79/4930k/ddr3 rig? I'd be happy to break 15k on the new rig with stock voltage/ln2 bios. I'm jealous of those breaking well into 15k with stock voltage/bios!

Wow that's a golden chip right there brother... thanks for rubbing it in! But seriously, nice card... enjoy it

Mine maxes out +100 to +125 on the core for ~2130mhz clocks. Pretty weak example, many lesser cards on air can do similar.

I'll be sending her back for RMA anyways, not sure I'll ask for a replacement though.

Cheers 🍻

So under the 1000w bios, the card will just pull the power required based on clock speed and classified voltages? I'm not trying to go much above 600-650w until someone bothers releasing a water block, so I don't want to blow past my mark if I use my original classified profile from my benchmark. I was at 1.156/1.050 LL 3 for both

you cant pull 600W without increasing nvdd and msvdd. You dont need 1000w aswell

I suspect RMA is not going to help you in your case.... I just booted my 4930K/Rampage IV Extreme with Kingpin 3090 and can see exactly why it's throttling.
