@maxenko, have you done a Port Royal stress test? What is your average sustained clock over the run?

If you can, can you you make a run with only the temp and power sliders in px1? Want to get an idea of your average sustained clock.

The reason I ask is that my KP is on the way and I am worried that it won't be any better than my FTW3 UG.

That card stock with air cooling, with only the sliders, will have an average core clock of 1947.

Underwater, with the Optimus block, +120 core +200 me I can get a 14.9k in PR with an avg clock of 2110.

Best of luck to you!

Ok so +0 +0 LN2 All 4 NVVDD switches ON. Fans on 100% and ambient temp 30 (nothing I can do about ambient, window is open).

Port Royale: 13524

There is more. What I mentioned above as coil whine coming from my PSU after installing Kingpin, is actually pump noise coming from Kingpin water pump. I have confirmed this by placing a small magnet over the area of the card other owners have placed it and it completely stops the noise. The noise is always on regardless of the load. Reason I bring this up is that it may be the reason my temperatures are a bit higher than what everyone else is reporting - its a malfunctioning pump. I've already contacted support with a video of it. I hope there is a way to fix this without RMA. I've already shaken and tilted the card every which way... its not going away.

I wouldn't stress your potential performance... especially if you are going with waterblock, I am sure I could push mine past 15k with properly working water pump.

Edit:
I realize you wanted a stress test. Here is the result - same settings:
I can get more detail if needed.

Are there any checks, or benches I should run that may give me a good indicator on how it will do when water cooled?

Not really.  You can compare the GPU clocks witht he stock hybrid cooler to what your water cooled FTW3 gets with water cooling.

What you have to remember is that the kingpin has the advantage of software voltage control through the classified tool.  Then the 3090 FTW3 hits its voltage limit and won't clock any higher, the KP 3090 can keep going if you use the classified tool.  In addition to that ther eis a 1000 watt ReBar BIOS for the 3090 Kingpin that removes the power limit.  Even with the hybrid cooler a 3090 KP can draw 550-600 watts during Port Royal.  With chilled water you can see 600-700 watts power draw on a water cooled KP 3090.  The FTW3 has a hard limit of 500 watts with the XOC BIOS.

Thanks for the reply.
It looks like you are getting some good sustained clocks stock and that is nice to see. With my FTW3 I saw how sensitive the performance was with temps, so that you can maintain above 1950 core clock on the stock cooler is a good sign of the efficiency of the chip.
This is really kind of a perfect storm for me to pick up a KP card. I can at least break even on the KP purchase by selling my FTW3, and I just want to make sure that I am not downgrading my performance.
I don't plan on using the 1000W BIOS and will stick with the switch in the LN2 position at the most.
My clocks on the FTW3 for daily driving/gaming is +120 core +200 mem, this gives me a stable 2020 core. My high PR score of 15.2K was with an unstable clock of +200core +200mem when I had cold window air blowing on my PC.
My Optimus block is on order, I am trying to get a sense of the performance I could see once I put everything under water.
Thank you again and please keep us updated on how you continue to improve your scores and zero in your overclock!

You guys and your Optimus blocks. I've been watching custom loop build videos and tutorials all day while working. Might have to jump the fence with next generation of GPUs.

Thanks, I know with the FTW3 I checked the power loading on the PCIE and the 8pin connectors to see if my cards had the load balancing issues, and unfortunately,  the first card I received did. EVGA made things right very quickly and without an fuss.
Are there any gotchas on the KP card? Anything I can "quickly" check to let me know if I am going to have issues down the road?
Thanks again for all of you help! I'm really looking forward to getting my card!

I would check to see how high you can overclock the VRAM in various benchmarks while keeping the GPU speed stock.  The GRRD6X VRAM doesn't benefit much form extra voltage and it doesn't actually like being below 20C.  So you can get a general idea of the VRAM performance in benchmarks already.  The best Kingpins seme to be able to do +1500 to +1700 VRAM overclock with stock ambient temperature cooling.  In my experience most Kingpins fall into the +1250 to +1400 VRAM overclock range with ambient cooling.

So many people here keeping their load lines so high... Not worried about nuking the VRMs?

Some people who emailed Vince to ask him what settings to use were told LL0 or LL1 even with ambient cooling.

Fair enough, well, in that case idk if throwing your entire PC out the window constitutes "exotic cooling" but here's my PR with the stock cooler, no re-paste or anything. Temp outside was ~5 C based on my intake temp probe.

Edit: lol nvm, cant post links due to low posts and cant embed an image either. imgur.com/a/Tlm9HfM you can punch it into your browser if interested...

You're not alone. Not a KP, but note my average temp. Lol.
